HEre is something to think about. If SIA had posted the +605, would anyone accuse Arreef of taking ahsot by betting on it. I doubt it. Most would see nothing out of the ordinary to see an overly inflated dog at SIA. So the issue is really not wether the line is bad per se, bt whether its a bad line for this particular case.

By Dave's own admission, Arreef made very few plays there. More than likely because of the 5% weekly bonus, and the fact that betcbs's line are on that website that arreef uses which chose who has the best line, he opened up an account there. If he has a large enough bankroll there is really no need to focus too much on how opinionated their lines are. All your doing is sitting back and waiting for another book to offer a favorite at a good price and use betcbs as the hedge, and get the extra 5%. So its really not fair to assume that Arreef shold have known that betcbs would never pot such a line, becuase he really hasn't played with them all that much.

Thank you for the support of 13 of the 14 arguments I posted on page 5 of this thread explaining the inconsistencies and bad precedents that Casablanca and Dave Johnson are trying to set. Your arguement of plus 400 being a non opinionated line when pinnacle has plus 435 is correct, however Dave clearly states in his one time only thorough response to address ALL the facts surrounding this case:

The line on the tennis match in question was posted at 6:00 PM on Sunday June 22nd. The line was opened at +400. Other books who were using that same Matchup at the time:

Ladbrokes Nadal +350
As you can see even the +400 we were using at betCBS was a little high."

Whether or not Pinnacle was up at 6 P.M. on Sunday night is unknown to me, but clearly it was unknown to Dave. He states he checked around and these are the numbers he found. If Dave is telling the truth I would have to assume that Pinnacle was not up at this time and he makes it seem as though these were the only three that were up. Certainly I think we would all agree that if Pinnacle had been up at the time it is a place that should have been checked. I find it hard to believe he could have checked Pinnacle and only list these three relatively obscure places. So I stand by my original conclusion that having taken all the information he had at 6 P.M. Sunday Dave Johnson clearly put up an opening line that indicated he or Casablanca had an opinion on this match and was trying to draw dog money. It would not be unreasonable to assume that when it was seen that Pinnacle had the highest number out there at plus 435 which certainly indicates that Pinnacle (who I think many of us consider to be one of the sharpest places when it comes to putting up opinionated lines) was now taking the same stand on this match that Dave had originally taken, moving the line to -805 +605 may not have been clerk error but a clear indication that their opinion was stronger now than it was before since Pinnacle favored the same side they did. I am not saying that this is what happened I am just trying to indicate that the players can't be mind readers and based on the facts you can't say beyond a reasonable doubt that the plus 605 was an obvious bad line and not a case where a book with an opinion was trying to take a position on a game only to cry later when they lost their bet.

Although I admire your persistence and dedication in this matter, making unsustantiated statements like they are broke and going out of business has reached a point of counterproductivity not only with me but also with many of the other people that feel Casablanca has handled this situation in a completely unacceptable manner. I do not believe they are broke and I do not believe that they are skipping town any time soon. Based on their reputation prior to this incident and what other posters have said, I don't question their ability to pay, I question their willingness to pay and recommend to anyone out there to take all the substantiated facts and arguement posted by all who have chimed in on this and the other associated threads to use them as a basis for whether or not to do business with them in the future. As I have previously stated I would not post money there as a result of this incident, and I think enough information has been tossed around that everybody out there can make an informed decision. Additionally should Dave have a change of heart and do what the majority has suggested is the right thing and pay all accepted wagers in full or submit to binding arbitration where each side can state their case to a mutually acceptable industry insider, I would consider, pending future behavior, changing my current opinion of this place. Bottom line though JJ unless you have a new point to make or a legitimate response to a particular post I think it is time to give the trash talk a rest and let everyone decide for themselves how they wish to proceed in the future with Casablanca.

I have heard of no confirmation that areff got paid. If and when he does I'm sure we all will hear about it. I don't dispute that the guy got stiffed but your posts are tending to be redundant and unproductive. If you can substantiate your claims of bankruptcy and financial difficulties on the part of Casablanca please show us your evidence. I don't think this issue will ever be dead until a resolution has been reached, but I would think that most people have made their decision already as to how they wish to proceed in the future. I do consider youir posts to be from the heart and not part of any particular agenda as only several months ago you yourself had them rated in your top ten list. Once again I understand and admire your commitment to spend the rest of your life fighting this issue, but the trash talk should be stopped and any further posts you make on this topic should either be in direct response to another post or be a presentation of facts that you can substantiate or reasonably argue. We are all entitled to have our own opinions. I've made mine clear, I'm certain nobody will argue with you on your stance, and I think most everyone else has made up their mind as to where they stand.

I worked in the Domincan Republic when the industry was just geting started. I worked in Curacao. I worked for ABC Islands when it was great. I worked for CRIS. CMCS, I have NEVER seen a book KEEP the money from "bad line" bets or heard of it in any sportsbook. The company's I have worked for all have or had integrity when I was there. Now, I have a question for you sir. What does the integrity of Monty, Carson, Dunes, or Eurobet have to do with KEEPING the money on a "bad line" bet? I respect your posts and your insights, but this is simply a case of apples Vs. oranges. Cecil, Didn't YOU just ask MENACE to NAME the book with the error, so you could stay away you HYPOCRITE?
