Lander: that story about Canbet surprises me somewhat, but I believe at that time they were operating under strict Australian rules. I don't know that for a fact, but I do know other books do have flexibility to do things like that.

Just to be clear, I've reported errors when I see them to any book - the first time - and I'd say about 70% of the books have credited me, which was appreciated. For the other 30%, I have no axe to grind but I simply don't bother reporting the bad lines any longer to them. It's not a question of greed, it's a question of fairness - even a $10 parlay would be a nice gesture, even if they will eventually void the bet anyway. Why, you ask? Because the book will lose the potential income from booking bets on that bad line when they eventually void all wagers, so there definitely is a business reason for them to encourage the reporting of those lines.

Yeah, I was surprised by the Canbet situation myself. It occurred after they moved to England.

Honestly, I used to report the errors to every book, but now for instance - I would not bother reporting it to Canbet because of the stunt they pulled with me. On the other hand, Bluegrass has not ever given me a bonus for reporting errors, but they're the first book I'd report it to .. because they are great guys & we've done some great stuff together for charity ...

really, it all about building a relationship IMO. I try to avoid books that portrary themselves as some corporate bigwig - I'd rather play somewhere that treats you like a valued customer.

What I have come to believe after quite a few years of experience is its better to be a small fish in a big pond, rather than a big fish in a small pond. In other words I try to remain just an account # to any of my outs. I know you are involved in more than just playing in some of the books mentioned above. Personally I commend Bluegrass and yourself for any charitable acts. I just like to remain under the radar where I play. I guess its a wilheim thing. Anyway I see things are heating up over in politics. This guy Musa is a real phony, I think he is the same guy who claimed he was a Russian, a German, and a Frenchman, at one time or another, all the time using that broken English rap.

Later,wil.

I would agree with those that believe a small token such as a $25 bonus or parlay is appropriate under the circumstances. You are saving the book from potentially losing money or having a headache informing customers of a bad line. I have only reported a bad line once and didn't get squat. It was a futures line and I noticed they changed a whole whack of future lines after my email. Oh well, I did my part.

Yes, I believe a book should reward loyalty..Calling a book and informing them of a bad line is the greatest favor a customer could do..Bad lines cost big $..All I ask for is equity with my customers..I like to think we are all on level ground when the wager is placed..(unless of course the customer will have a influence on the outcome of that event)If he has that power the line forms to the left..But anyway..
Human error is garden variety..Line managers make mistakes..There are a great amount of customers who accept the mistake and go on with their day..Then there are the bad apples..Every industry has them..They are unpliable people who believe that they are entitled to take advantage of your mistakes..I just had a situation where I had to pay a customer because of human error..I explained my case, to no evail..
The most common way to give a example is 5 people go to dinner..The check should be 500 but when it comes its 100..Some people will want to let management know of the error, then there are those who would leave and be happy..If you are one of those who would bring the mistake to light you are one of the good guys..
Finally, I would like to say that all the good guys are welcome at my books..Its a pleasure to cater to any customer, let alone the honest ones..

SDS, lol, that's my problem to an extreme: last year I drove back to a drugstore to give back $5 to the teenage cashier who had, unknown to me at the time, given me too much back. Why she didn't know how much an economy box of Trojans cost, I'll never know! Anyhow, I knew her register would come up short and she might have to make up that $5, so it was a no-brainer for me. But even if it had been an asshole at the register, I'd have done the same thing. It's much easier sleeping at night when you're not worried about ethics. But of course, when books do not offer some small token of gratitude for being notified of a bad line, I really don't see why I have to continually notify them of bad lines - it's like being a waiter and continually getting stiffed by a regular customer - it's not equitable. And, may I say for those books out there who don't reward in this situation: that oversight will eventually cost you, far more than you'd ever reward.

Do the right thing.

Don't know what other books do but we always prize our customers for a simple detail that helps so much. Bad line or anything we can use from your suggestions, we will always give you $25 match play or more if we feel it would be fairer to do that.

Hey SDS manager....

Not sure if you give anything for "Site Suggestions" but...

You need to add a link for your "Live Lines" to your homepage. I looked and can't find your lines for today and I really don't want to open a new account just to look at a book's lines....lol

If I missed them I apologize

Have a great weekend

Its a nice gesture for the book to send a bone, but it should be self satisfaction to allow the honesty and integrity to step up. I have been given comps for this but would never ask for one or be mad when i do not get one.
