Lander: that story about Canbet surprises me somewhat, but I believe at that time they were operating under strict Australian rules. I don't know that for a fact, but I do know other books do have flexibility to do things like that.
Just to be clear, I've reported errors when I see them to any book - the first time - and I'd say about 70% of the books have credited me, which was appreciated. For the other 30%, I have no axe to grind but I simply don't bother reporting the bad lines any longer to them. It's not a question of greed, it's a question of fairness - even a $10 parlay would be a nice gesture, even if they will eventually void the bet anyway. Why, you ask? Because the book will lose the potential income from booking bets on that bad line when they eventually void all wagers, so there definitely is a business reason for them to encourage the reporting of those lines.

Yeah, I was surprised by the Canbet situation myself. It occurred after they moved to England.
Honestly, I used to report the errors to every book, but now for instance - I would not bother reporting it to Canbet because of the stunt they pulled with me. On the other hand, Bluegrass has not ever given me a bonus for reporting errors, but they're the first book I'd report it to .. because they are great guys & we've done some great stuff together for charity ...
really, it all about building a relationship IMO. I try to avoid books that portrary themselves as some corporate bigwig - I'd rather play somewhere that treats you like a valued customer.
