Sherman-

How tight is your budget? If it is VERY tight, how about a place like Mystic or Martha's Vineyard.

You may get more/better suggestions if you let people know how much you have to spend and how far you want to travel.

Borat,

I went all the way to P-town, but we drove around and had some bikes as well so we saw a lot of it. Only other time I went to just Hyannis and the Vineyard in mid-July and what a disaster that was. Quaint little town that feels like Vegas on New Years Eve, I highly recommend avoiding that time of year! Being from out West don't get the chance to go to places like that much but I love going to that area and Boston when I can.

Did you get laid in P-town WildBill?

I thought you were called wildbill for all the right reasons. I guess I will have to look elsewhere for mutual oral gratification.

Sherman- You live in CT and are on a $2,000 budget.

This is easy.

Take your family up to York Beach in Maine and catch a couple nearby RedSox games at Fenway Park.

What a perfect summer vacation, did it many times............and I flew all the way FROM Vegas to do it.

Sherman, September in the Rocky Mountains is a wonderful experience.

The national parks aren't full like they are in the Summer, and the weather isn't too hot.

You could fly into Vegas, then drive to Southern Utah and do Zion for two days and Bryce Canyon for two days. Great views, and if you are a hiker you will love it.

Aspen and Vail are awesome as well. Fly into Denver, and drive 2.5 hours. It will be off season, so rates will be reasonable.

Tahoe is another fantastic option. Fly into Reno, spend 1 night, then head for scenic Tahoe. Bring backpacks and your camera.

All great choices Fezzik.

For sheer beauty, Colorado and Utah are my top two states on the mainland United States.

I suppose you could throw Montana in that bunch too.

I went to Calgary/Banff/Jasper last summer in the Canadian Rockies.

Great places. I imagine Montana would be similar.
