The local Boston papers and talking heads have noted that one of the reasons that the Pats defense failed last year was the lack of a leader after Brian Cox left. Recently there have been mentions that Rodney Harrison was assuming a leadership role and pushing his "take no prisoners" defensive philosophy on the rest of the defense - especially the younger players. Last night I believe we saw that philosophy at work as the Pats decimated the Giants. I know it was only preseason, but please note that the people making the most noise, notably Samuels, Wilson, Klecko and Johnson, are all first year rookies, and 3 of them are defensive players. You might want to make note of this for the remainder of the preseason and, if it holds true, into the regular season.
