Ray Rice had surgery in early March to remove a small piece of cartilage in the knee that gave him problems all last season.

Ray Rice - RB - Ravens
We usually consider offseason surgeries for elite fantasy players at least somewhat concerning, but this one isn't. The operation was extremely minor in nature, and on the first day of Ravens conditioning Rice was running full-speed sprints. He anticipates "no problems entering training camp." Rice lost explosiveness while playing through the injury for the vast majority of 2010. The surgery should help him regain his burst and quicks. July 26 - 4:46 p.m. ET

"Ray Rice will play a major role in short-yardage and goal-line this year," Cameron said after the Williams signing. "We were just fortunate to have a guy like Willis [McGahee, before], but this year Ray Rice will be in short-yardage and goal-line as well. He is outstanding." Rice dropped from the No. 4 fantasy back in 2009 to No. 11 in 2010, in large part because his season was so low-scoring. Getting goal-line carries is a large addition to his already top-six overall fantasy value. Williams is strictly a handcuff pick.
