Here's a dump from my notepad:

Vandy out gained Western Ky 393-247 losing 14-12, but was -3 turnovers. Looks like many SEC teams will benefit from a virtual bye week this season.

Pretty good defensive performance by L'ville only giving up 327 yards to the vaunted Auburn offense. Perhaps that number was reduced a bit by the turnovers with the fumble return for TD. Although Johnson completed only 11 of 21 for 127 yards with three interceptions, certainly not Heisman like numbers for sure.

Temple upset Penn St. 27-10, for the first time in 74 years.
Christian Sackenberg was sacked a whopping 10 times and never had the type of protection needed to help Penn State sustain any serious drives.

Tennessee gave up over 550 yards to Bowling Green, but rushed for nearly 400 yards
''I promise you that someone's not going to sleep over there based off of their defense either,'' Babers said about the Vols.
Bowling Green had Matt Johnson back after hurting his hip in the opener last year, and he threw for 424 yards and two touchdowns against a Tennessee secondary that lost two projected starters in August to injuries.
The Falcons from the Mid-American Conference kept attacking with an offense that looks just as speedy as last season when only Baylor and Arizona ran plays faster in the Football Bowl Subdivision. Four of their scoring drives lasted no longer than 2 minutes, 20 seconds. But they hurt themselves with repeated penalties, flagged 12 times for 128 yards.

Tenn's defensive struggles could be a problem next week as two players making their debuts for Oklahoma were the biggest stars. Baker Mayfield passed for 388 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a score in three quarters, and running back Joe Mixon had 142 yards from scrimmage
Mayfield set a school record for yards passing in a season opener, surpassing the previous mark of 363 yards by Sam Bradford in 2007. The walk-on transfer from Texas Tech won the starting job in a preseason battle with last year's starter, Trevor Knight, after sitting out last year.
It was Oklahoma's first game featuring its Air Raid offense under Riley, the team's new offensive coordinator. The Sooners finished with 539 total yards.

A&M's revamped defense under John Chavis, the former LSU coordinator, forced two turnovers, had nine sacks and 14 tackles for losses. It was the most sacks the Aggies have had since they had 10 against Texas Tech in 1995.
''You could tell their defensive coordinator has had a really big impact on them,'' Arizona State coach Todd Graham said.

If Kentucky gave up nearly 250 yards rushing to UL Lafy what are they gonna give up to Auburn, Tenn, and Georgia?
After nearly blowing a 3 TD lead, ''That's just how we draw it up,'' Wildcats coach Mark Stoops joked. ''It was really a great night. I could not be more proud of this football team. The way they hung in there and played a hard-fought game. We knew it wasn't going to be easy.''

In what has to be a demoralizing showing, Texas gave up over 500 yards to Notre Dame while gaining less than 200 yards themselves in a 38-3 shellacking in South Bend.
Zaire threw for 313 yards and three touchdowns
Zaire was 19-of-22 passing, an 86.6 percent completion rate that was second-best in school history
Kelly said Tarean Folston, the leading rusher from last season, sustained an injury to his right knee and will be out for the rest of the season
Notre Dame took advantage of an inexperienced Longhorns squad starting three players who were in high school a year ago, amassing 527 yards of total offense.
The Longhorns, coming off a 6-7 season, lost a season opener for the first time since 1999. It also marked their third straight blowout loss, finishing 2014 losing 48-10 to TCU and 31-7 to Arkansas.
The Texas offense started the season where it finished off last season, ranking 105th in total offense, as it struggled to get anything going. Tyrone Swoopes was 7-of 22-passing for 93 yards, and Jerrod Heard completed his only pass for 10 yards.

Florida finally found an offense in McElwain's debut, albeit against lowly New Mex St
Will Grier accounted for three touchdowns, Treon Harris threw for two more and Florida overwhelmed New Mexico State 61-13 Saturday night. It was the most points scored in by a new Gators coach in his debut.
Grier and Harris were nearly perfect on the night, finishing a combined 29-of-36 passing for 379 yards and four touchdowns.
McElwain likely will let the competition play out another week. After all, there's not really too much that can be garnered from playing against one of the worst teams in major college football over the last three years.
The Aggies lost their 11th consecutive game, falling to 5-32 since the start of the 2012 season.
Still, so many aspects of Florida's opener looked and felt completely different than the four less-than-stellar years under defensive-minded coach Will Muschamp. The offense was crisp and creative, complete with constantly changing personnel groupings as well as a variety of shifts and playmakers.
''They've made a lot of progress, especially with their quarterback,'' New Mexico State coach Doug Martin said. ''I think he's done a great job with those quarterbacks. Those guys are really gifted players. I thought they executed their offense well.''

For being on Florida State's campus for less than three months, Everett Golson looked very comfortable running Jimbo Fisher's offense Saturday night.
The graduate transfer from Notre Dame matched a career high with four touchdown passes and had the seventh 300-yard game of his career to help the No. 10 Seminoles beat Texas State 59-16.

Mississippi State would love to limit how much quarterback Dak Prescott runs the football in order to keep him healthy all season.
The problem with that strategy is Prescott is really, really good at running the football. And Mississippi State's offense didn't look like itself until Prescott took the game, and the ball, into his own hands.
Miss St. only out gained So Miss 442-413
