In fact, a part of Costa Rica that I would recommmend that is not usually talked about much is the whole "region Norte" or nothern part of the country, the area which we know as San Carlos, Ciudad Quesada or La Fortuna. Alot of sight seeing to do and a complete breath of fresh air if you wanna take a break from city life....

I tend to go to Carillo Beach once a month, and really where's the risk?, The risk maybe ME on the highway since I'm a wannabe F1 pilot! LOL And i do that route in 4 hrs drive, but hey, it's from one part of the country to the OTHER side of the country. And in no moment, i have had any near death exps.
I think you should really be objective when you go on a rant like this, Well anyway, you have the right to opinion. But my point is don't try to make it seem all bad. There is whole lot of great things of this small country.
