If you bet on a player, and the player wins because the other player "retired", is that action or no action?

I looks like the guy who won did so because the other guy quit in the middle of the second set.

Thanks in advance.

check the rules at the book you placed the wager. i think once the match starts, it is action, no matter why a person won the match.

Totally depends on the book - there are three different ways that books handle this situation.

With most books, this bet is operable, and the player advancing will be paid as a winner.

Tell me the book, if you want, and I can tell you for sure.

Found this common rule in several Sportsbooks:

quote:
For Tennis match betting, in the event of a match starting but not completed, the player progressing to the next round will be deemed winner.

This covers precisely players who retire in the middle of a match, and the bet is action.

If the match suspension is due other circumstance, like inclement weather, rules are different and vary from one shop to another.

Better check the specific rules where you have that bet wanna.

thanks, I found it on their site. There were three conditions.

1. Event has to be played within a week of the scheduled time.(yes)
2. Both Players must start for wagers to be considered action.(yes)
3. Match must go one full Set for wagers to be considered action.(yes)

In this case, the guy quit in the second set so I'll assume the action is good.
