QL's WC bets

I'm 4-2 on theRX for soccer bets in the WC. I've been doing better on the halftime bets but here goes.

NED -0.5 +101 over IC
Netherlands is a much better team. The Orange team will want a victory here to guarantee a pass into the next round.

MEX -1 -105 over Angola
Same thing here.

PORT -1 -136 over Iran
Same thing here.

CZE -0.5 -133 over Ghana
The Czechs beat the US 3-0 and they're only getting -0.5 here???

ITA -1 -105 over USA
If the Czechs can beat the US 3-0, certainly the Italians can do similarly.

the only one I don't like is the USA Italy match. The Czechs are the #2 ranked team in the world. USA is #5.

Italy is not in the top 10 and they have several controversies going on right now.

That being said, no way in hell I ever bet on a USA soccer team.

Good point about the controversy kk. I don't put much stock into the rankings though.

I feel pretty good about the Czechs doing well. The line now is at "-0.5 and -1 -125" so more money has come in on the Czechs since I posted.

I'm going to go for a fun bet here. I haven't watched the Japanese/Croatian match but I'm going to make a bet on Croatia -0.5 -120 based upon the fact that Croatia has 8 corner kicks to 2 for Japan. That tells me that Croatia is more aggressive and will outscore the Japanese in the second half.

Togo/Swiss under 1 and 1.5 -126 (2nd half) [2 units}
I just about fell asleep watching the 1st half of this match. I can't see 2 goals being scored here. Togo is taking shots from 40 yards out instead of playing close in. The Swiss don't seem to be too able to even get the ball in their side of the field. I say they will be satisfied with getting the win by slowing things down in the 2nd.

Well I should have learned that teams don't slow things down toward the end of the match when up by 1. Switzerland scores a goal with less than 5 minutes remaining to push half this bet. The other half of the bet wins so I get a net victory of 1 unit since I bet 2 units on it.

I thought that last goal by Barnetta was just a bit lucky. If you saw the replay, it looked like one of Togo's defenders actually tipped the ball with his left foot just enough toward the goal for the ball to bounce off the side post. Otherwise it would've probably wouldn't have gone in. Oh well...

Any thoughts on the next match? I'm liking the Saudis +1.5 and the draw. Appreciate your insights. GL

Sorry Mindware. I go to bed after the first match. The second match starts at midnight my time. I feel that I can get a better read at halftime so I will try to make my bets then. I haven't been all that successful with the full-game bets this year.

What a dog of a bet this was. Halftime shows the number of corner kicks as being the same as the score: Germany 2, Ecuador 0.
