why is that when someone posts a losing pick it gets bumped.
isn't this supposed to be a forum to help each other and bump up winning threads?

I think it is all based on how you present the pick.

To answer question 1:

"Bet the house", "Lock City", " Play of the Century", "I'm undefeated and never lose", type of threads that scream 'look at me, I am an attention whore' that lose wil always get bumped up and ridiculed.
Especially if the thread is started by an unknown poster here, or a newbie with a low post count.

If a newbie wants respect one should not start threads with such ridiculous language, they should start threads that state something like this:
"I really like the Bears tonight"........ something like that, and inside the thread maybe a few words as to why you like the Bears.

So, if the author of this thread substitued " I love the Bears +4.5 tonight over the Giants" in lieu of "Put the house on the bears" he never would have been bumped to get ridiculed.

And on the inside he wrote "Bears look good to me tonight, Giants have been disorganized lately, Hester has speed to do some damage...," maybe throw in a couple of stats to back up your play, instead of saying Bear will kill 2night, I guarantee you two things would happend.

Thing 1: Depending on the length of your analysis, you would get a few "Nice writeup" but at the very least you would get several "good luck on your play tonight"

Even if one was on the Giants, the poster may have gotten one of these "I'm on the other side, I like New York, but I wish you well."

We are not ridiculing the losing pick as much as we are ridiculing the over the top attention whoring style it was presented.
His thread doesn't get bumped if he posted in a civil fashion.
As a matter of fact, his post may get bumped with one of these "shake it off, get it back next week"

Get it? Got it? Good!

RX veterans don't want to see BS like that cluttered in their forums, and if they do, some get annoyed and will jump ugly as to say "knock it off, don't do this again".

Question 2: You ask isn't this a forum where we are supposed to help......
Yes, and I would like to think I just did in Question 1.

And if a poster feels like bumping up a winning previous thread that helped you win money, by all means do so.
As long as the thread is not bumped up by the author as if to say "look at my pick, I'm great......"

This is the RX, we are considered the elite message board of this type.
I can't speak for others, but I don't want to see "Lock City" type threads, if I wanted to see that, I'd go across the street.
