Michigan's defense has trouble containing strong ball handlers as they drive to the basket. This struggle hasn't been so apparent against the recent bottom-feeder offenses, such as Minnesota's, that Michigan has encountered. But even teams like Northwestern could score a lot by thriving inside. On offense, Michigan will score a lot by relying on star center Hunter Dickinson. While he's not as tall as his Purdue counterpart, he can use his versatility to exploit Zach Edey's slow-footedness. Dickinson is also comfortable shooting from the mid-range and behind the arc. By forcing Edey to guard him away from the basket, opportunities arise for backdoor cuts and other scoring at the basket.
