2-2 w/2 HRs, 3 runs scored, 4 RBI, 2 walks....just a typical day in the life of reigning MVP......ALBERT PUJOLS!!!

If he stays healthy he is in for a monster year. This guy is a future Hall of Famer, no doubt.

Not a Cardinals fan here, but Pujols is one guy I have a whole lot of respect for.

Pujols has been the best player in baseball other than mabye steriod user bonds over the last several years. He is awesome.

Hard to gauge from just one game but if he stays healthy, Cards are up to their mashing ways again.

Well, I actually disagree. My pre-season opinions was that the cards will suck ass in that division. Today's game kinda goes way against that theory, but I'm still going to insist that they are going nowhere. Impressive result, let's hope a 10 game losing streak starts tomorrow.

PS: Let's also hope I don't say that last phrase 100 times during the season;o(((

No team will ever suck ass with Pujols in the lineup. Cardinals will continue to dominate this division for the next few years. This coming from a long time Astros fan.

pokerpills, I rate Cabrera about 0.00001% after Pujols. I actually believe that if Miguel was in a pitching park, his numbers would rival Alberts. I think the Fish will suck, even with him on the line up.
About the Cards, I don't like that rotation, I don't like that pen, I don't like that hitting line up. If Rolen is back, having 2 big boys + Edmonds may be just enough to pull it off. I don't think it happens tho. The overall competitveness of the division is way up, IMO. Except for Cincy, everybody else can compete for .500.

Three different times last season...the Cardinals lost 3 straight...

The first was in May when the Padres went into STL and beat them 3 out of 4, winning the first three games of that series...

2005 NLCS Games 2,3,4
last 2 full seasons, no losses in more than 3 straight games...hence their back 2 back 100 win seasons...go ahead and pencil them for another 100 this year!

Just looked up last year...other than the three 3 straight losses, only lost back to back games 4 times during the season!!! wow

You must be smoking some primo crack to rate Cabrera over Pujols?!?! :smoking: ......that's a disgrace to say something like that. Cabrera is a good young player but Pujols is in a class with just one other person-Bonds. Cabrera is not even close.

I think you will need an eraser with that. 86 wins.

Tied with Ruth

Albert Pujols hit his 669th career home run and doubled. He is tied with Babe Ruth for the fourth-most extra-base hits in major league history with 1,356.
