Colorado vs Vancouver
Avalanche in Regulation
-121 Avalance TT Over 3.5 -109
The Avalanche is starting to get going down the hillside a little bit again, as Wednesday’s victory extended a three-game winning streak where they’ve outscored the competition 17-4. So, to say Colorado is hot right now would be an understatement. It helps that the Avalanche’s Big guns are back to firing the way we’ve known them to —— in Colorado’s past three games, MacKinnon has two goals and eight points, Lehkonen has five genos and six points and Rantanen has four markers, and five points. So while if you just look at the counting number of the Avs attack, you’ll not be overly impressed as they are in a three-way tie for 20th offensively this season. But the injuries and the Cup hangover were to blame for much of that and dare I say, this team is showing shades of their 2021-22 selves.
Meanwhile, in Vancouver, the team is in utter and complete turmoil and frankly, I feel bad for Brucey Boudreau. Despite not always being a fan of his work, the guy deserves better than to have his boss flat-out say he ain’t gonna be here while keeping him on. And if the first period against the Lightning was anything to take note of, the lads in the room aren’t exactly battening down the hatches.
Now even if they were I’m not sure it’d be making a world of difference, because this team is just ill-equipped to compete without the otherwordly goaltending that Dmeko was providing them down the stretch run last year. The defense is mediocre, and the forwards aren’t carrying play at an elite level outside of Pettersson on a nightly basis. So with the Canucks drowning under the weight of a failed season, I’ll happily take the Avalanche on the 3-way ML, and also grab their TT over 3.5, because I think they put 5 past Martin and walk away with a regulation win.
