air force -1½ feature game (reg play)
my rankings have these two teams ranked close with air force being ranked better defensively and wis-mil ranked better offensively. almost all respectable rankings have wis-mil ranked a bit better but air force is favored an i will side with the bookies for this game because i think there is a reason why they gave an edge to af here.first of all this is wis-milw third game in 5 days, all on the road, and seventh road game in last 8, before coming back home for a two game home stand vs conference opponents. they lacked some consistence almost all year as they lost last 4 after a win. and when they are getting the points, they are getting them for a reason, as they are 0-6 su in last 6 as underdogs. they have a very good offense but they face a very good defense today. they lost to four defenses ranked #70 or better this year (by my rankings) and air force could have even a better defense compared to those four teams.all of these four teams that have beaten wis-milwaukee thanks to there defense, also happen to be ranked in top #100 over all, and air force is in top #100 as well. wis mil has not beaten any team ranked in top #100 by my rankings this year. air force is not favored all that often but in last 10 as favs they are 8-2 su. they are coming of a big road win and there confidence should be at a very high level coming into another big game today. in a matchup like this one, i prefer taking a better defensive team, playing at home, over a better offensive team.
