check what Strong did at Louisville in this second season....

Strong is an idiot Horrible hire. The fact that he leaves the "Swoops" kid in at Qb tells you all you need to know. Probably a nice guy but way over his head.

From my good friend who's father is a big UT alum and donor. There is an out right mutiny right now from the donors. Apparently, after the Rice game a group of frustrated donors have said they are going to withhold donations until changes are made. Apparently the AD Patterson is 1st on the list of folks they want removed. They were promised things would be done one way, and are finding out that they got a cold, NFL GM instead. Per him, they are also NOT VERY HAPPY with the coach either. Sounds like it's a staff that is coaching for their lives right now. Apparently that coaching change was NOT spontaneous, but recommended.

Texas AD Steve Patterson fired, reports say

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A person with direct knowledge of the decision says Texas athletic director Steve Patterson has been fired.
The person spoke Tuesday on condition of anonymity because the school had not announced the move.
Patterson was let go after just two years. In that time, the storied football program has changed coaches but is still struggling. He has also clashed with fans over increased ticket prices and a "loyalty" system that angered longtime season-ticket holders.

Charlie Strong next?

or obsession if we're gonna go and spell things correctly here.

but thankfully Patterson is gone. I dont think I saw one good thing written or said about him. Not sure at all what this means for Strong after this season though.
If it's a really bad season, I doubt Strong stays. Mediocre to good and he'd stay unless the new AD has someone super duper powerful lined up and I cant think of who that could possibly be.

University of Texas President Gregory L. Fenves is expected to fire embattled athletic director Steve Patterson, and the move could come this morning, a Houston-based source with knowledge of the situation told the American-Statesman.

Inside the 40 acres Civil War. This will get worse before it gets better. So are they going to bring in Luck to try to save the day?

I mentioned in the offseason that I thought the current Louisville coaching staff is better than the one that moved to Texas.

wait, so suddenly Strong is a terrible coach after having a crap year with Mack Brown's recruits and their mentality and work ethic?

OK!!!

Patterson also hired Shaka Smart. Is that bad too?

There's a difference between being a bad coach and being a bad fit. Just ask Rich Rod. I don't think Strong is a bad coach. He's definitely a good defensive coach. But I've never thought he was a good fit at Texas. And it's not going to get better for him with Patterson gone..He better hope they hire a very sympathetic AD that will keep him on one more year.
