I saw a comment from Michelson that he did not gamble at all any more.

Don't know why any PGA pro would bet on himself. The first place money is so HUGE and the odds on each player are so SMALL.

One of the biggest ripoffs in sports betting.

Maybe matchups might be OK sometimes. But the odds to win the tournaments are stupid.

Rail- I jave a hard time believing that if a ref bet on a game he was working that the fact that he bet on a team has no impact on how he calls the game. I agree with you that most people bet for the action, I use to be one of those people, but you still want to win that game and if you can have a impact on the game I think you would pursue it.

I've always wondered what the big deal was, athletes should be able to bet on themselves or their team if they want to. sure giving them permission would be condoning sportsbetting and the evils that can get involved with players throwing games, but, I don't know... why would if matter if Ray Lewis bet on the Ravens to win their division?

If a player is betting on his team, what about the games he decides not to bet at all? How's his effort going to compare? How would the public react?

100K,

That is a very square view, the public is, always has been and always will be extremly ignorant, especially fans of the nba, Pga players could cheat all day, but they call penaltys on themself, why do they do that? because they are honest. A last place team knows they are going to probably lose, but that doesnt mean that they will.

D2bets,

I guess we didnt watch the same games, but I didnt see any nba players dive for loose balls this year. But I did see many girls dive head first with shorts on in the ncaa softball world series this year.

Railbird.
Um, I don't think I stated a point of view. I simply asked 3 questions. Of which, I don't see an answer for one. Thanks, though.

effort is always 100% cant improve on effort if you bet or not. bet is made because of weakness in pointspread, not becasue of personal effort on the playing field
