I always lean toward the underdog when I look at preseason games because neither team cares about the score, but I decided to go with the favorite, Bucs -2.5 over the Jets, because of one thing. The Jets may be the trickiest team in the league, its how they score their points, but there is no trickery in the preseason. Doesn't exist. Combine that with an experienced group of defensive Bucs reserves and there you have it.

Thx, Gen. I thought I was in trouble when the Jets pulled that bootleg toss on 3rd and 3 from the 8, I guess Herm wanted to get started on the right foot, but that was the only non-standard play I saw all game.

The zebras were in midseason form costing the Bucs 4 points on the TD that was called back. The first official had it right and signaled TD but he was only checking the feet. The second one only saw the end where the receiver tryed to show the ball and bobbled it, he couldn't see the receiver slide 4 feet with the ball in sure possession. One things for sure, neither one of them saw the ball hit the ground, because it didn't.

The key play for us point layers was the Simms TD pass on the stop route in the endzone. A FG there woulda only made it 16-7 and we would've been set to get it from the back door.

Good game. No turnovers thru 3 quarters. Pretty impressive. Zebra's held onto their flags, too. That'll change next weekend after they make the warnings about rule changes. Here's wishing everyone a fun and profitable season.
