hi I am wondering about how to get better. Only just these past few weeks have I really learned how to read the daily racing form PP's. And when I say "read," I mean "glean some basic knowledge about the field in each race." Very, very rudimentary level over here.

Some days I buy a full card at a particular track from daily racing form website. I get the classic PP's because I don't know what "Formulator PP's" are, and classic PP's are a little less costly.

Many days, like today, I instead just look at the "free PP race of the day" on daily racing form, and the one on equibase, and then the free "STATS race lens" race of the day PP's, accessible from the equibase website.

I get the impression (perhaps a wrong impression?) that the STATS race lens PP's and associated features/customization/database/research/etc. can be very useful. I don't really know how to use it but will watch some youtube videos soon. Unless it's not worth my time?

Any thoughts, guidance, suggestions, are very much appreciated. Let's get it this weekend.

Brisnet , drf formulator , equibase ,time forum us are the basic pps formats
Speed figures vary, some are man made , others are computer generated .

Thorograph, The sheets , are more advanced platforms of reading a horse's form cycles and they assign a numerical figure to each horses recent races , The lower the better. ( expensive for the regular player)

There are at least 1000 software programs that use different data files that replaces the old
pen and paper format ( eg Optix eq, Equinedge, Valuecapper, Htr , Rdss , Always , Predicteform etc etc ) -- Some expensive , some not so much.

Advanced Simulation programs that are not found on the net . They combine all algorithms from different sources and assign a number to each contestant . ( extremely expensive for the avg player ) 600.00 US and up monthly

In my opinion ,It will all come down to which Format ,program , simulation you gravitate towards the most. These are all tools and none of to carry the magic bullet . Within my first 15 years
I tried absolutely everything within these programs to come up with a single number factor that would stay ahead of the curve . After much agony I realized that there was no such answer.

It is a lengthy learning curve to go through all the material out there but with time you as an individual start to find what works for you.

Then the fun begins . Here in my opinion is where you begin to unravel all the hidden parts of your consciousness. This game will test all emotional and physical limits that you may have . If you are serious about winning and maintaining an overall + balance yearly or just looking for some extra
monthly income you will really have to dig in . The CRW teams have made it almost impossible for the regular player to stay on the positive because they have all the advanced algorithms and cut into your profits . They live off rebates and affect the normal day pools tremendously. Most organizations cater to them and give the old F--- you to the regular player .

So my advice my friend is try and listen to your instincts on what is real and what is not . This is not so easy in todays world , but I am sure you are aware of that . Anyway good luck on .journey.

Tough Tough game but worth it nonetheless

oh wow you have given me much to think about. I just looked up CRW and found it depressing that this has been going on.

I think I will keep printing out the drf pp's and marking them up with pens and highlighters and see where it takes me. It's something I'm doing for fun and diversion. It is mentally stimulating. Thinking hard about things and making value judgments and such. I think it is good for the brain. Thanks, again, I appreciate it.
