I have read a few threads and would just like to post a few points. Firstly Bookmakers are only betting on these games due to public demand and as noboby has a clue, including them, everything is very volitile. Whereas movements in the regular season are more solid, moves in pre-season can be made without a Dollar being bet, just a pre-emptive move by the Books to information. ( never ever be so stupid as to think the Books dont know what you know) When bets do come in, it doesnt need much for one book to shorten and the rest run for cover and then re-evaluate, they will then be in the position of being back to square one, only at a different spread. Contrary to popular opinion, Books dont want to lay anything and guessing is certainly not their game, rather no business than bad business. As I have said, one big bet can alter the spread, and have mugs talking non-sense, the main thing is not to be the mug that takes the end of the steamed line, as in the Chicago game. Better, as in all betting, when you have missed the boat, wait for the next one.
