Poor man gets lucky. Very boring story written with a lousy English

I bet with small stakes as you have noticed. I don't win much but I don't lose much either. Well, I thought to bet some money on soccer (Man U vs Juventus under2.5) because I thought it is a damn good play and here's is the ticket:

******

Fixtures 19 February / Man Utd v Juventus : Over/Under 2.5 Goals * Under 2.5 Goals XXXXXXXX 2003-02-19 19:31 1.95 40.00 Back 2003-02-19 19:31 1.95

******

So I got under 2.5 goals -105 (1.95), but while I watched the game I realized it might go over if they continue to play like that. About 70 mins played (playingtime 90 minutes in soccer) and I placed next bet and no worries after that:

******

Fixtures 19 February / Man Utd v Juventus : Over/Under 2.5 Goals * Under 2.5 Goals XXXXXXXX 2003-02-19 21:11 1.20 40.00 Lay 2003-02-19 21:14 1.20

******

So what was purpose of this? First I placed £40 with odd 1.95 (-105) and backed under 2.5. Next I placed a bet where I sold under 2.5 with odd 1.2 (-500) and staked £40 and if it goes over2.5 I lose only £8. Now what?

1. If result under 2.5 I win £30
2. If result over 2.5 profit is plus minus zero. So I don't win or lose.

Over 80 minutes played Man U is leading 1-0 and it looked like UNDER. Then 85 mins 2-0 for Man U and 90 mins played 2-1. So Under crashed and I didn't won or lose.

Of course I had a good chance to make arbitrage bet (eg. laying £80 instead of £40 in 70 minutes). In that situation I would have won:

1 If result under 2.5 ->£22
1 If result over 2.5 ->£40

But I believed it stays Under 2.5..........

Well, I'm happy I did not lost any money.
