I’ve never talked off the record with Barman but 2 years ago when I first started posting here I emailed Wil and inquired about Doc Mercer and why the Rx condoned his rhetoric. I was told it was a matter of free speech.

Of course Bush was in office then. :toast:

Mercer was given two separate opportunities to be a reasonable contributor to our (usually) friendly PoliticoPub.

And he demonstrated that he was far too batshit crazy and detached from reality for ANY of us - right, left or inbetween - to endorse his continued membership.

On a related note, I have - in the past three years of fairly active participation here - placed just four posters on "Ignore" as their presentations were relentlessly tedious.

All four presented strong and consistent "liberal" POV. But they did so in such an exhausting and clumsy style that even a liberal like myself could no longer burn the few minutes a day it took to skim past their onslaught of repititious blah blah

Well there are admitted advantages to having the Master Key to website Super Powers.

But at the end of the day, I'm not into quashing much of anyone because I am relying on them - at some future point - buying me at least a couple rounds of drinks and or a Happy Meal whenever I pass through their town or am in same place as them.

Do the math.....A couple dozen posters here who are "rightys" with who I often disagree.......Multiply by a couple rounds of drinks and a couple dozen free dinners and pretty soon it's more than worth it to tolerate their wacky right wing viewpoints.

Toledo OH, Madison WI, Las Vegas NV, Hartford CT and even Down Home, LA....Here I come.....

Regarding Romanowski's post.

This may sound hypocritical I don't know but Romanowski is right on or as they say in England Spot ON (I hate when I hear native son US born Americans using that term) but if you guys just left me alone I would have left you alone. Tit for tat as they say if that is still what people say when two groups like posters and mods co-exist peacefully.


That was the idea in the first place when I moved this forum just below the Rubber Room (whose denizens most admirably do really keep to themselves). Unfortunately Politics and World Events became the Rx equivelent to a Japanese game show, which was OK with me except.

The show was one staffed with a couple of dial 911 happy members that made my life more difficult than it should be, especially with the Bash and it's hundreds of tiny details I have to make sure all gel perfectly without breaking the bank doing it right around the corner.


You guys ruined a good thing. You really should'nt blame Barman or myself. Seriously Romanowski is right.

Average week:

Baseball forum (pretty busy at times): official complaints .5 (half a complaint)
Politics Forum: Official complaints 6 compalints minimum, maybe 8 is closer to the real number as I don't see all the PMs and emails..

Many of you who have been here awhile know I defend Israel to the end.

Its become the "popular" opinion that the US fight's Israels wars, Israel receives aid from the US with the US receiving nothing in exchange form the relations. Particularly on internet forums. Almost similar to when the dog becomes the public play. A reversal.

I have never reported a post however, but I do believe in free speech and if I can change one person's mind on the issue then cool. Otherwise you have to deal with romanowski's Israel rant.

To me you report a post only if your real name is posted in the forum, which to me is unacceptable. Otherwise fight your own fights
