So where does it stop? What order wouldn't you comply with? Why does a cop have this much power?

What, asking for your full name and asking you to stand up is too much power???

First off, we do not know the back story to this. What if the police had an informant that gave them this info or if someone called the police and said this guy Michael who had a warrant was at this location right now.

Second, the guy was being very evasive. The police asked his name and then he took forever and just said Patrick. WTF. Your full name jackass.

Lastly, how many guys that do have warrants are going to give the police their real name if asked? I guarantee you most of the times they are going to lie. Shocking I know that people lie to the police every day but if I was a police officer would you believe this guy is uhhhhh, Patrick, when it took him forever to answer and then he just gives a first name?

When asked, give your full name. That is not too much power for the police to ask for your full name, sorry, especially seeing we do not have any info on why he was approached in the first place. Don't be a jackass and you won't get tazed.

if this exact situation happened because he refused to show ID then great. these idiots didnt even ask for his ID therefore were wrong. how u can see it any other way is amazing. whats your name? patrick. oh you have a warrant even tho thats not the name on the warrant. when does a cop detain you without even asking for identification?

Again, do you think a guy with a warrant is going to give his real name? It is just that simple huh? You have no clue what it is to deal with people who are wanted. Do you think career criminals who are wanted are just going to give their real names every time a cop asks? What world do you live in? Mayberry?

They did not ask for ID because the guy was being evasive when they asked his name!!! If you cannot see that any other way that is amazing to me. They asked several times and he did not answer and then when he did he just said Patrick, nothing else. They then asked him to stand up because he was being evasive, was sitting in a car, and could have had access to a weapon or something else in the car. Not unheard of and was the best action for the safety of the police and him. When the guy did not stand up or give his full name what did you want the police to do? Walk away?

All the guy had to do was say my name is Patrick Mumford, check my ID and that would have probably been the end of it. But no, the guy had to be jackass and refused to stand up. Give me a fucking break, that is not a police power trip to ask someone to stand up when they are sitting in a car, giving evasive answers and possibly a wanted felon.

Winner.

We live in a society. Right or wrong, you comply with police. This is similar to the Boston incident when Barry said the "cops acted stupidly". No they didn't. They were doing their job. Just like these cops. The guy did not comply and got tased. Should they have body slammed him? I love how lay people think they can easily do a cops job.

I can't believe how many people here are so hard headed they think the defiant suspect was in the right.

you know this is going to an on-going thing all the time anymore.just do as the police tell you and then handle whatever is going on.this could all be cleared up on site if you just comply and talk to the officers and let them do their job and run a check to see if the warrent or whatever is valid.when you resist that is when you are headed for trouble.the difference i see quite often is,the black race wants to argue and resist what the police are asking for and then comes the taser and wrestling part and what follows is,the police are throwing me dowwn and beatin on me for no reason, then they find crack cocaine, weapons, and warrents that are valid, but they claim police brutality,.......now the white guy he is highly intoxicated and understands nothing and is falling all over the place and mumbling sluring, druling until they have no choice but to tase him to calm him down, then 30 seconds afterwards he is a bit cohearent and says to the police, wow dude you didn't have to go that far and then the officer explains in detail why he had to do it and the drunkard says ,yea i guess thats fair, but i don't remember any of it

so anytime a black person is in contact with the police there is always going to be a claim of brutality no matter what,.......prisons population is out numbered by the black race and its getting worse, but they are all innocent ,yea my balls,..they also run this act in prison as they say the corrections officer is beating them to,..bullshit,just looking for a lawsuit for free money,...just another form of getting welfare

You heard the guy say he was on probation, maybe he had some weed in his pocket. Something that should be legal but isnt, he would have got violated for that.

If many guys lie about their name, why not ask for an ID? Why afterwards did he claim that he asked for his ID 3 times and then say again that he asked for the ID 4 times? It seems to me that proper procedure is to ask for ID and the cops didn't follow it and then decided to use force because he looked like the other guy.

I really dont care for these black lives matter people. I think most of them are racially motivated......BUT I have to admit they have a point.

The white police man has been killing innocent black people for a long time. This has only been exposed recently with audio and video ..I would say since mid-90s.

They absolutely positively have a point to make.

What a terrible reputation, I certainly would never want to be a cop these days....I wouldnt be proud wearing the uniform.

Apparently no cop has ever shot and killed a white guy though huh?
