I played in a lot of home games a little way back and we got to know each other so well we used to pick at each other. May not be funny as I tell it but these are hilarious when dropped at the right time to the right person. Here are some of the quotes from our cirlce of players.....
- ALL chips must be kept ON THE TABLE!! You can't stack racks behind you any more. Like most other comments this is usually dropped on the player who shortly before had chips stacked up high in front but is now down to one rack. Often accompanied by muffled laughs from the others this one is hard to respond to....
- At least you will be able to "cash in at the table". This is called when the player runs out of chips and either is out of money or decides not to reach for his wallet again. When you have chips you are cashed out in the back room. Nothing is funnier to these dimwits than when asking how did Ira do and someone say "he cashed in at the table!" Often followed up with high fives amongst the other players.....
- Chip virus. Again only used when you have turned a nice win into being stuck. One of the vets will always notice and point out "looks like we've had a case of the chip virus down around seat #2".
- Sang to the tune of The Farmer in the Dell...A squanderin' we will go..... a squandering we will go... As always this is often hummed when you blow back chips playing poorly or chasing a hand. The old man who likes to use this one is almost 80 years old but is notorious as being one of the best ballbusters south of the Mason Dixon line..... Nothing like being stuck, playong poorly and have Grandpa hum "a squandering we will go" as you are losing your chips....
