30. San Diego (5)…0-5…-60
31. Chicago (4)…1-3…-65
32. Arizona (5)…1-4…-90

The surprise of the top ten is Carolina Panthers with a PD of +40. The defense and Stephen Davis have carried the way and Jake Delhomme has not lost it for them. The surprise of the middle (11-20) is Dallas at +17. The Cowboys have had an easier schedule than Carolina with AZ and NYJ, but Parcells has them playing much more decisive than the previous regime. The surprise of the bottom are the Pittsburgh Steelers with a PD of –32. They are 1-2 in the division but could have easily been 0-3. Where is Ward, Plaxico, Zereoue and the Bus? Fixing a flat back a mile or so.

It would seem that both Tampa Bay and Oakland are suffering from being on the Super Bowl Hit List. Tampa is playing better than Oakland but both teams are getting the best of their opponent each week.

Arizona’s preseason strength of schedule was ranked 32nd. A PD of –90 is not a good sign. Their next 3 games are at home vs. Baltimore, San Francisco and Cincinnati but check out the remaining schedule: @ Pit, @ Cle, STL, @ Chi, @ Sf, CAR, @ Sea, MIN. Very tough indeed.

New Orleans is also a very disappointing 1-5 with a PD of –51. Although a lot of that is the Indi debacle, it remains to be seen if they can dig themselves out of an early hole. Especially when their M.O.. is to fade late in the season. Draft picks anyone?

I will post again after 8-9 weeks. Thanks.

Oorang,

Pittsburgh has to be the biggest surprise on the list. Tommy Maddox and the offense is not clicking and the "vaunted" Steelers defense can't stop anybody from scoring TD's inside the red zone.

Also, Jake Delhomme is Carolina's QB.

Thanks for the correction Big Lou. I think your Super Bowl list is well, lol, great. Is consecutive losses to start a season one of the criteria? And can I pay to have the Vikings kept off the list?

Oorang,

I don't add anybody to the list. The teams add themselves.
