It wouldnt be that bad if people didnt post videos that are older than 5 years. Music in the 60's, 70's and 80's is pretty sucky compared to anything we have now. Get over it. The technological gap and modern day development simply can not be over come. Old music is just placing you somewhere to a time that was happy for you. Who gives a shit.
Umm, huh? Music today is beyond terrible.
Give me some Floyd, some skynard, and some Zeppelin and I'm good to go. Just be sure to leave out ACDC. The stuff out there today, I can't think of one band around today that has music that will endure to be listened to 20 or 30 years from now. College rock, whatever you want to call it, :nopityA:. Even Metallica hasn't made decent music since they were kids.
If you are talking about rap then that is another story but I don't consider that "music"

What we did at 18 and what we thought was great at the time is not the case anymore.
I'm talking about all genres. My parents hated the shit I listened too. And what seems like a constant rebellious push, will be like that until the end of time. If generation after generation grew up listening to John Lennon and the Rolling Stones deeming this as the beacon of what is good in music we would never get anywhere, we would never evolve.

Rob, this to me is an absolutely remarkable quote. You can't honestly believe this. My daughter is 18 years old and she knows better than this. Forget about generational differences and all that bs. And I'm not saying they should stop making music...of course it is always evolving and reflects the attitudes, beliefs and interests of the current generation of teenagers. But you're saying that by default that makes it better? You think there's actually a comparison with Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, the Who, Queen, Elvis, the Doors, Pink Floyd, Heart, on and on... and the stuff they put out today? Then you look for something different in your music than I do, that's for sure.
You say "The technological gap and modern day development simply can not be over come" I would agree with this when it comes to many things...consumer products of today vs. yesteryear, modern athletes vs. athletes of old, etc. But for music? Do you feel the same way about all art? The paintings of Monet, Da vinci, van Gogh...you believe because these are old that they are now irrelevant compared to modern day art?

Wow...Ok well maybe you might wanna broaden your horizon with some old school music/movies....I remember you posted saying you couldn't watch any old classic films as well... Give it a try and try and get into it...There's alot of good creative people out there that have made some classic stuff...Alot of old skool movies/music paved the fuckin way for this new shit thats out...You could learn some things...
