Alright, here goes. The final half of the season is upon us. Wish everybody luck and enjoy. I'm going to change things up a little. Instead of making a new thread each day, I will do one per week. I think it is just easier for me to track my plays like that. Hope there aren't any problems.
Tonight's Plays:
Detroit Pistons -10.5
I wrote earlier that I really like the way these guys are playing. It seems like they finally have gotten over themselves and the championship run to realize that this is a new season. I think the fact that only one Piston, Ben Wallace, was picked for the All-Star team, helped these guys realize that they aren't anything special individually. They are realizing that in order to win they must play as team, on both sides of the court. This is exactly what they have been doing recently, as they've won four in a row and six straight at home. During this stretch, <!--StartFragment --> the Pistons have shot 50 percent or better in three straight games and had 30 or more assists in three of their last four. Amazing, give me a team with 30+ assists in the NBA and I'll give you a winner. Tonight, they host the New York Knickerbockers before heading off on a six game road trip. New York has been struggling to find any kind of rhythm. They have won 2 of 3 but lost 14 of 16 before that. They sit at the bottom of their division, and are likely to be there for a while. I'm going to take my chances on the Pistons to continue their dominance at home over these woeful Knicks.
Detroit 105, New York 88
Seattle SuperSonics +3
Houston is playing some of the best ball they've played all season. They currently sit on an eight game road trip and look to continue their streak tonight at home vs the Sonics. Seattle lost two straight before the break and are trying to avoid making it three in a row. In all honesty, I feel Houston is due for loss. I don't mean to take anything away from them, because they are a good team, but all streaks come to an end. With San Antonio hosting the Rockets tomorrow, I will bet that they lose one of these two games (double or nothing). I don't want to miss out on this money making opportunity.
