All Sports Capped: 11-7-2 (+7.3 units)
NBA: 6-5-1 (+4.5 units)
5*: 1-0 (+5 units)

I hope all are having an enjoyable new year. I have just returned from a nice escape from reality (unfortunately) but on the upside I got gambling to help me cope.

POD: Milwaukee/Dallas OVER 205

Tonight I looked at the board and after looking at the numbers I've decided to make a play on this over. I have a tendency to follow trends and Milwaukee alone has gone over the total six straight. Also, 5 of the last 6 in this series have gone over the set total . I don't usually like playing an over set this high, but I'm taking the chance here (hell, that's why it's called gambling, right?).
Dallas 117, Milwaukee 106

Good Luck!

Seems like good things happen when we are on the same play. I had DAL by 18, but your total was much closer. Wish I had seen your post earlier. I would have loaded up even more on DAL. Look forward to your next post.

Another nice win today Choose or Lose!

Didn't see this thread. Wish I had. I went an incredible 0-7 tonight in the NBA on sides. I can only laugh about it, and wish I faded myself lol. I'll be looking out for your plays to hopefully get the ball bouncing my way next week.

Evan---thanks for the props, but its hard to enjoy my win after I read about your unfortunate day. Sorry to hear you had a rough night, man. However, it seems like you got a good attitude about it and aren't letting it hold you down. Trust me, I know how it feels. It's happened to me plenty of times. It's one of the reasons why we keep on coming back, you know. Tomorrow is the beginning of the new week, and the first one for 2005. Gonna try to start on a positive note.

Keep your heads up!

Choose or Lose,

Thanks for the encouraging words... Everyone has bad days/streaks and today was just uncanny. Blanked out in NBA and won one NFL game out of about 8 today. So it just wasn't the sport, but my instincts in general. I used to beat myself up over losses, but I was playing dumb parlays and dumb bets in past years. Today, I may have played a little too much action, but I kept it down to one game a bet, so I wasnt mad at myself about not being disciplined, just a very, very bad day. I just couldn't believe I had every NBA and NFL game backwards. With every bad day, there is at least two good days coming up for me :) Let's just hope I got the worst of 2005 out of my system in a one nighter and let all the good come puring in now!

Let's get that money!

What you're telling me is just out of control. I remember one day when I went 0-9 in baseball. Another time I went like 7-2 in college football only to go like 1-11 the very next day in pros. But one day I just came to a conclusion, and I've stated this before, that the less I play the better off I am. It was hard too, because when I started really getting into this, I remember looking at every game on the board and thinking that I could figure the side and total for each one. Unfortunately, I'd end up going 5-4, but more often than not I'd be 3-6, 1-8 or 0-9. Very rarely, have I gone 7-2 or 8-1. And I can't remember when I got them all right. Phuk the Vig by the way!

Now, I hope you don't think I'm trying to preach to you about how to gamble. I am in no position to tell anyone how to do what they do. I have always believed "to each his own." I mean, this is only my 100th post so I'm still trying to prove myself. I just want to share my thoughts and give you an idea of why I do what I do. Many times I've read others write about how this is a marathon. And in a way it is. Realistically, nobody is going to become a millionaire overnight, despite the method to which they choose to make money. With that in mind, I can make 10 plays a day and run the risk of losing 11 units or make 1-3 and lose a max of 3.3 units. In my opinion, the latter seems to be a much easier hole to get out.

Anyways, I'm going to stop here. I love talking this stuff though. I'm with you on getting that cash. I hope to help in anyway that I can.

Exactly. I just need to be more disciplined in how many games I play each day. I tried to set myself at 3 but I quickly forgot about that as I was on a huge hot streak adn going 8-2 and 6-1 on days. At first, it was my bad habit of parlays and luckily SportSavant was there for me to tell me to straight up leave that behind. Sure, the payout looks nice, but you're chances of winning is hindered because of the multiple games on a card.

I'm only 18 so I still have a lot to learn. I don't care about the money that much. I have a full-time job and am going to school to get my career. This is only for recreational use and I set aside money to play around with. To me it just makes watching sports more interesting and if I can pick up a few hundred here or there doing it, why not.

My new years resolution is going to be to limit my games each day :) Pick my best 3 and make sure I'm comfortable with them. Like you said, you could go 3-0 or 6-3 and its the same thing.

18, huh? I was about 21 when I got started in this, aobut 15 years now. But only seven or eight seriously. Keep your head on straight, and finish school. Like I said, nobody gets rich overnight. Stay focused and just use this as a hobby. With practice and experience, you'll start to find a strategy that best suits your style. You're going to start noticing some situations and hopefully you'll look into it and find trends of your own. But stay focused in school. Don't get sidetracked and let this take over your life. Back when I was in college, I thought I could use this as a way to make some extra spending money. I let it take over and my grades slipped. Be careful. After two semesters of slacking and losing about 5 grand I learned.

Just a side, going 3-0 is not the same as going 6-3. This is why I say Phuk the Vig. Going 3-0 means your up +3 units. Going 6-3 puts you at +2.7 units. Don't forget the juice.
