maybe I'm lost here, but I thought the whole point of this thread is that they will make you take the new line if it moves against you, but if it means you are getting a better line they stick you with the old (worse) one. Meaning you always get the worst of it.

I would guess that Pinnacle has updated their software since Darryl Parsons and I did the test back in July.
At that time (July), I don't recall anyone ever remembering a Pinnacle line change moving in their favour when they resubmitted their bet.

I would guess that Pinnacle has updated their software since Darryl Parsons and I did the test back in July.

The way I knew their system, they will only change it to help you if the pointspread changes. For example, if it moves from +6 -110 to +6 -105, you will not get the benefit of the change unless you refresh, but if it goes from +6 -110 to +6.5 -110, then you will. The key is that if the +6 stays at +6 then you will have the anti-selection against you, but if the +6 changes to anything else you will get notified of the update no matter what.

I certainly do not think either one of you are lying. FWIW. Lately, the times I have had bets rejected because of line movement, have been at halftime of busy NFL Sundays. More often than not, I got a better line the second time I entered the bet. I mean juice, not points btw. CRIS is much worse, they change a lot quicker and I can't ever remember the second # being in my favor. Regarding the experiment, who knows if someone of the many (thousands) of Pinnacle customers did not play the game during that time frame. Face it $10 is not going to effect anyone's number on any game. I like to play at Pinnacle, and have very little trouble there these days. If you feel uncomfortable playing there, do yourself a favor and move to another book. IMO. it is more important to handicap and get yourself on the right side of a particular game than worry about a few cents. Do I want the best line available, of course, but my focus is picking winners, not shopping numbers. Good luck tonight.

normally i would expect the price to drop following the limit bet but it seemed to stay at 2.00 so i placed another limit bet.
very much to my surprise i discovered the 2nd bet went through @ 2.01. after this the price had dropped to 1.98.

That's interesting that you have favorable juice rejections at Pinnacle. I have yet to experience that but then again I don't bet NFL halfs. It could be that they fixed things up since July or maybe they only do the anti-selection for certain events.
To me Pinnacle is still a fine book and I have no worries about playing there. In fact it is precisely because they are so good that such a subject is interesting to begin with IMO. A scam shop doing this would not be news at all.
That CRIS seems to do it from your experience is also interesting since they apparently have a good reputation around here.

A strong point into a proof that they take positions where they feel they know it all. I've been betting limits with them on UEFA Cup and other secondary leagues where limits oscilate between $ 500 and $ 2000 and every time without exceptions the price sank considerably.
