To me they clearly looked like they had been smashed into their faces. They were clearly shocked. They had to say:"We did not want to come here. They have sent us."
Furthermore there were pictures of some Iraqi taking dead US or UK bodys into a house while laughing about the scene.
Guys, that is war. Your TV showed the Iraqi POWs and they are doing the same. Furthermore heavy casualtuies for the coalition. Do not believe what either side tells you. Our German TV stations said that whenever the pictures occured on your TV they cut off the broadcast.

"do not believe what either side tells you"

Andy, that implies that you consider both sides equally capable of the same level of lying - is that true?

You're welcome to your opinion. For me, I won't believe much, if anything, a regime that has claimed to have already shot down 21 cruise missiles and 16 coalition aircraft says vs. the coalition which has already reported 2 fatal accidents, one friendly-fire incident and an incident where apparently one of our soliders tossed grenades into a tent: anyone thinking Iraq would have EVER admitted anything like that is worse than naive.

I'll prefer to believe what I hear from US and coalition forces, reserving my right to be open for more info on subjects where I might have a legitimate reason to do so.

If you would know the number of targets hit in % during Kosovo it would clearly change your mind. But believe me the cassualties on the coalition side is way higher than you are told and therefore I have my sources. About friendly fire: You should look up how many UK troops had been killed during Gulf war I by friendly fire. Amazing. They might even have shot down more than two aircrafts but i really do not believe they shot down any missile. i guess the fights are much more heavier than we all are told.

ps the daughter reported back to her father this info . she is a doctor of some sort on one of the hospital ships. he has heard nothing from his son

sorry, i was too lazy for a translation so it was translated by google:
Information only for three days after the beginning of the Iraq war practices correspondents sharp criticism at the handicap of an independent reporting "consents" by the US military. They accuse to the USA to keep away and manipulate journalists from information. Tacit information barrier such as Pool of broadcasting corporations aRD-correspondent Peter Puhlmann reported, journalists from war-critical countries are prevented from the entrance to messages. US medium representatives kept their information however direct from the pentagon and the white house. The large American TV transmitters would be in the meantime a "kind information Ministry" of the USA. Among the journalists from war-critical countries prevail "bright indignation", so to Puhlmann opposite tagesschau.de. Already before the war one was delayed by alleged technical difficulties in the reporting. The non--informing is obviously part of "war tactics". The world public "is manipulated". Coincidences unwanted journalists, who were invited from the pentagon to the reporting, experience daily their reduced possibilities. Pool of broadcasting corporations aRD-Korrespondent Jay Tuck, which from the aircraft carrier USS Truman as "embedded a korrespondent" - when "more embedded" journalist - reports, may much information on not pass and can it also hardly examine. The USA, so Tuck, do not want to leave in this war anything to the coincidence. Confirmation of well-known also Pool of broadcasting corporations aRD-Korrespondent Arnim Stauth experiences the restriction of journalistic activity in Kuwait. If it gave steered entrance to soldiers before beginning of war still another, one can make oneself in the meantime hardly still another its own picture. Only from time to time give it to Briefings by the military, in which however only anyway well-known is confirmed. The information, so Stauth in the discussion with tagesschau.de, would flow "unbelievably meagerly". Originally the journalists trips were assured to the front. Of it is in the meantime no more speech. Also in Kuwait military the korrespondenten from countries of the "coalition that prefer consenting". A British press officer said Stauth: "you received as much information, as them troops in the region have." Stauths result: The operation ' Iraqi Freedom ' begins with substantial restriction of the pressefreiheit."

What about the thousands of Men, women and children that Sadam has slaughtered? I agree that children being hurt and maimed during war is heart breaking, but a time must come where you need to weigh the greater good. In the long run this action will save countless lives.

No, you're wrong, andy. Saddam and his boyz don't feel the same way, not when it's not their children. Do you really think they cared about the children of their own Kurds and Shiites?

However, the US and coalition will release accurate counts once they've confirmed them. Regardless of how many there are and will come, it doesn't change one iota the pride I have in our military, the inevitable outcome of this conflict nor in the fact that I believe this was justified.

I wasn't raised in Disneyland to think wars were going to be bloodless nor easy. It IS hell. And yes, I am fully prepared for a lot worse.

The greater good does not involve the invasion of a sovereign nation.
The greater good would involve taking world opinion into account.

radio: this is an endless merry-go-round on the subject of 'world opinion' - you and I do not agree on each other's views on it. When the US has a legitimate claim that involves it's security, then they certainly can and have.
