Defense wins championships, and as I write this, the 76ers (Under 3-2 in these playoffs) have the best chance of winning this year’s title at 27%, according to FiveThirtyEight. That’s because they’re already 1-0 up on the Celtics (Over 5-2), although Game 1 went Over 215.5 with Philly prevailing 119-115.
Now that we have a higher total (and a great deal on vigorish at –103) to work with, I’m definitely taking the other side. Freshly-minted MVP Joel Embiid probably won’t play Wednesday, but I doubt James Harden will score 45 points again (including 7-of-14 from long range) if he’s forced to carry the load.
