TAKE

INDIANS -1.5 ( -120)

That was an absolutely BRUTAL "bad beat!" To get tagged for 5 runs in the T9th is
unreal, especially with Eaton's GRAND SLAM!

Where the fuck was Miller?

YEA...

I am sure some may think differently but that was a horrible top half for the SKIPPER. His team isnt that good to be playing the odds with Allen.

I always love the experts that say that. Guy faces maybe 9 batters in three days but he's tired or something? This is the big leagues and you're in a pennant chase. Take off your skirt.

Baseball has changed a lot in regards to use of pitchers. I can remember "Iron" Mike Marshall for the Dodgers. In 1974 he appeared in 106 games!

You guys have no idea how his arm was feeling. None. Francona has had a little success as a manager, I'll trust his judgment.

You guys got a DP in Tampa to get the W, this game didn't work out. It happens. PW a great season no doubt, but he's had his share of good fortune too. Nearly every loss in this thread was bad, tough, whatever. The fortunate wins are rarely called that.

If the closer comes in and gives it up, some of you would say what the hell is he doing bringing in the closer after using him 3 out of 4?

Tough loss no doubt. On to tomorrow.

He wasn't throwing mid 90s either. Throwing gas every appearance takes its toll.

Biz, I am not advocating going back to the ways of the old days. Just threw out an example of the how things have changed. Yes Marshall threw off speed stuff, a screwball I recall.

Not an Indians fan but looking at their pitching records it show Allen is the closer anyway. That was his 3rd blown save in 23 tries since he took the job from the older Miller who used to be the closer. Don't think the manager screwed up. Just a bad night from Allen.

And I agree that supporters can't always look at losses as unlucky while not viewing similar wins as lucky. But that is a gambler's mentality. I just joined the PW train recently and am only about even but I have no complaints. Fun to read everyday and hope Penny gets hot again.

Lay off the sauce. Andrew Miller is the best closer in the game and they traded there farm for him
