The Nittany Lions remained undefeated last week in a 17-10 win over Northwestern but it wasn’t nearly as impressive as Penn State backers had hoped considering they were 25 ½ point home favorites. And that is a big reason why they are getting a touchdown head start this week against Michigan because the betting public has a short-term memory and we like to take advantage of those shortcomings.
We should also point out that Penn State is coming off of their bye week and will have had two weeks to dissect their lackluster performance against Northwestern. Furthermore, the one thing the Penn State defense does very well is stoping the run, ranked 7th in the nation, which looms large because running the ball is a big part of Michigan’s game. I say this is a relatively low-scoring affair with Penn State at least staying within the margins, if not pulling the outright upset!
