I saw an early line of Nebraska -9 1/2 and I thought that was very low. As I was watching Penn St dismantle Nebraska in Happy Valley last year, I was realizing just how far Nebraska had fallen from being a top notch program year after year. I think on Saturday it will be the other way around and Nebraska will trounce Penn St.
Penn St is down this year. They were played toe to toe by Temple and pushed all over the field by Boston College and both those games were at home. They are a very slow offense and neither of their two QB's are very good. BC ran for 235 yards against their defense and that is a problem going into Nebraska.
The Cornhusker have a very strong defense. While Nebraska certainly isn't back to the level they are used to, this is an improved team from last year. I know Jamaal Lord can't throw the ball more than 10 yeards down the field but against Penn St, he won't have to. The Nebraska running game will control things and the defense will limit Penn St all day.
I like Nebraska a lot in this spot and can see a 20 point victory here and Joe Paterno thinking about retirement.
