Thats fine everybodies got an opinion. But Cutler is crying over nothing.
The real deal that I am hearing on WEEI.Com is that Tampa wanted to trade 1st and 3rd for Cutler. That is no slight to Cutler. But an improvement to the Broncos because they would have ended up with a 1 and a 3 and Matt Cassel.

The other thing WEEI is reporting is that the Pats had to redo Randy Moss's contract to sign Fred Taylor. The Pats had to free up money by the trading of Cassel and Vrabel to sign starter saftey James sanders (3 years) and offensive lineman "do all" Russ Hochstein (1 year) which they did last nite and today. This also frees up money to go after free agents.
Belichick was up against the cap and had to shit or get off the pot with Cassel's huge number against the cap.Or be hand cuffed for free agency and other players already on the roster needed to sign.Probably nobody understood Belechicks situation with the cap better than Pioli or McDaniels.

Couldn't imagine if Cutler had the tools to work with like Cassel had.

Cutler is a much better QB IMO. Cassell was in a nice system surrounded by talent that Cutler could have thrown 40 TDs easily in.

Cutler is good for a crucial fumble or interception in every game he played. In fact, the games that he played cleanly are few and far between. Now, I have no idea how skilled Cassell is because he was babied the whole season with screens and short routes, but I think he is stronger mentally than Cutler ever will be. It's a tough call because both players have a lot of question marks behind them. So, it'd be best not to franchise them, but you can take them if you're up a huge gamble.

Well one thing for sure is that McDaniels now has a QB who is pissed at him. Not a great way to start.

I don't know if the guys at EEI know any more than ESPN or the NFL Network, but IMO ESPN tends to throw things out there just to make news. Let's not forget that Cassell was a seventh round pick, that the Pats are now getting a second rounder for. That's pretty decent value. Certainly seems possible that the Pats could have gotten a better deal if they had waited, but there was no guarantee that this 3 way deal would have gone through, and Pat Patriot pointed out Belichick was up against it moneywise so may have taken the sure thing.

Not too mention unloading the salary.

yep i am on beer crack. tony gonzalez is the fitzgerald of tight ends you throw that guy the ball any where near him and he will catch it. by the way harry congrats on the cubs spending a ton of money and still going nowhere in the playoffs. Completely Useless By September granted the cubs are at least getting to postseason but hears to another century of losing. just screwing with you harry as much as it pains me to say i cant believe the cubs are far away from a winner they have added some solid pieces of course until you start batting the pitcher eighth like larussa you will not get there. miss the days of harry and jack buck to me that is real announcing-- we still have mike shannon but he is a dying breed.

Agreed he is a top 3 or 4 TE still. But he is still a TE, NEVER worthy of being picked in the top 4 rounds unless you have some weird scoring rules. That's all I was saying.
