OSU -12 vs Hawaii: OSU is worse off on D than I had expected and I had very low expectations. This team cannot stop the run. But, Hawaii can be exposed in the air and I think it is likely that Moevo/ straughter will do so again and again. That said I can't lay that much with a team that cannot stop the run. No Play

Stanford @ TCU -13: Eh. This line is a tossup to me. TCU should be able to focus on Gearhart and force Stanford to throw, which they aren't that good at. This appears to me to be a low scoring game. No Play

I have changed my opinion on Arizona for this week. Last year I had railed on the Cats inability to execute in the red zone, a common problem for teams early in the learning process of the spread offense. This summer my hunch on Arizona was improved redzone performance. That has certainly happened. They are 15-15 in the red zone. Phenominal turnaround. Now it has been confirmed that Gronkowski is returning this week. Tuitama gets to enjoy the addition of one of his top targets and one of the nations best Tight ends. Adding Arizona -10, 1/2 unit

RECAP- In order of priority
OREGON -6.5, 1 unit
Baylor +2.5, 1 unit
USC -10, 1 unit
Maryland +14.5, 1/2 unit
Arizona -10, 1/2 unit

I am most likely going to add Fresno St. and one or two total plays. I was not able to get any more on Oregon as the line moved away from me while I was waiting for word on Jeremiah Johnson's shoulder (it is fine).

I've also been thinking about Fresno St. I may play something on the side without posting it here but I think the Bulldogs will win it. That game should be one of the better games this Sat.

I'll also stick with my ** on Oregon. But I got the second * @-7. I'll take the team with momentum. Glad to hear about JJ.

The UCLA total may interest me too if that's what you were thinking.
Additionally, I don't think Curtis Painter can keep up with the Ducks but I can see him chipping in his share towards an over bet.

I know what you mean about Oregon State. All the good things the coaches and writers were saying about the new DL starters have not materialized on the field. What's takin' 'em? I'll not bet them again at least for the rest of the month and then as long as Perry sits out. The Hawaii line looks correct.

BOL on Zona. The revenge angle should play into this one. I will have plenty on my card as it is.

Two more things:

First of all I am adding to my USC bet. No Beanie means OSU's offense will be without their top weapon. I now expect Tressell to try and utilize Terrell Pryor more than was anticipated. I think it will prove to be a BIG mistake.

ADDING: USC -11, 1 unit

I am passing this along on New Mexico. It is an interesting article but doesn't disclose what I think is the reason behind the poor performance, Porterie tweaked his neck and I think it is a problem. Without him at 100% the cats should roll.

oredich: New Mexico QB has lost his touch

New Mexico junior quarterback Donovan Porterie seems to be missing his mojo - for the time being.
Porterie, who played an almost perfect game in a 29-27 victory at Arizona last year, is being intercepted, fumbling the ball and having a difficult time adjusting to a bunch of new receivers in 2008.
The Wildcats are hoping Porterie doesn't find his groove Saturday when they travel to Albuquerque, N.M., to play their final nonleague game of the season at 5 p.m.
"I know their quarterback can throw the football," UA coach Mike Stoops said. "I saw it with my own two eyes last year."
The Wildcats wish they could cover their eyes and forget Porterie ever came to town a year ago.
Porterie hit receivers left and right, short and deep, for screens and for touchdowns. Porterie connected on 29 of 41 passes for 327 yards and three touchdowns, including several deep balls against Jim Thorpe Award winning cornerback Antoine Cason and company.
"He probably played the best game of his career against us," Stoops said. "I don't know if I have ever seen a guy throw the ball more accurately than that."
Porterie isn't the same this season.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound quarterback had a pair of receivers in Marcus Smith and Travis Brown, who combined for 285 receiving yards against the Wildcats a year ago,who could catch anything, anywhere.
They are gone, and so is Porterie's touch.
The results have not been pretty as New Mexico is 0-2 with an offense barely averaging 12 points per game.
"The quarterback is always going to be the center of attention," Porterie said in a phone interview. "I am man enough to take it. I'm not going to point fingers."
New Mexico coach Rocky Long has made it pretty clear that Porterie has to step it up, saying the Lobos offense has been terrible, and his quarterback has been "average."
The third-year starter has only 191 passing yards in two games, and is still looking for his first touchdown. He had 11 games a year ago where he passed for more than 190 yards in a game.
Porterie completed 4 of 10 passes for 37 yards before suffering a neck injury in the first half of a 26-3 loss to Texas Christian in the opener.
He was 22 of 35 last week for 154 yards in a 28-22 loss to Texas A&M a week ago.
"I think our quarterback in the second game was trying a little too hard,'' Long said. "In the first game he didn't look like he was ready to play. He looked a little nervous and shocked of the speed of the game. He was trying to make plays that were probably not there. Hopefully he plays better this week."
New Mexico has struggled so much throwing the ball this year that the coaching staff has talked about simplifying the offense against UA.
The goal is to get Porterie feeling good during the first couple of series. "He was in as good a rhythm as you can get in during our game (in 2007)," Stoops said.
Porterie might be asked to throw shorter, quicker pass routes to start with before using his cannon of an arm as the game develops. "I don't think coach Long will stray away from the pass," Porterie said.

I believe that the UCLA defense will be a difficult test for the cougs and that alone could keep this game close. I consider BYU to be vastly overrated and if I had more confidence in Craft and his makeshift oline I might be tempted. Problem is I think that we'll see more 1st half Craft than 2nd half craft, if you get my jist.

Damn weather,

I had a terrific line on the Baylor/WSU game and now my bet was canceled. I wasn't surprised as the books were getting killed on Baylor money. Do I lay the points with the knowledge that I had a line 5.5 points better? I don't think so. What I will do is add a 1st half bet on Baylor. WSU is flying in today. I see no way that they will come in mentally or physically prepared to compete come kick off. Their whole gameweek schedule has been revised/ shortened.

Adding: Baylor -1.5 1st half, 1 unit

RECAP- In order of priority
USC -10, 1 unit
USC -11, 1 unit
OREGON -6.5, 1 unit
Baylor +1.5 half, 1 unit
Maryland +14.5, 1/2 unit
Arizona -10, 1/2 unit

Ducks,

I just thought I'd run this by you.

I was thinking maybe betting WSU if the line got to +4.5 which it might.
It's at 3.5 now. If Baylor is as bad as they say they are, maybe it will be a competitive game and with 2 tickets, ranging between Baylor +2.5 and WSU +4.5, that's a huge middle opportunity. Baylor wins by anything up to 4 or loses by 2 or less and the middle scores.

I am very tempted.

Nevermind.

Wulff pulled Rogers as the starter for tonight. Thought he'd give Kevin Lopina shot. It will be his first start anywhere... on the road.

Going to be some decent wind pushing through Waco tonight. Lopina going to find it tough to throw in. I am thinking Griffin runs circles around wsu D.

Nice way to start the weekend!

Baylor -1.5 half, 1 unit / W + 1 unit

I am so very tempted to take Baylor -3 second half. This game is all over but the crying.

Major. You may be right on Cal tomorrow but you have to be wondering is Cal that good or wsu that bad in last weeks game. I think you have to say as of now WSU IS THAT BAD. This is Baylor for cripes sakes!

Hey Belly, I haven't been looking around the forum much with all the log in problems... I saw that GoSooners is laying the pts tomorrow. what your take?

I am nervous about laying that much but UW plays really poor team D and is one dimensional on O. I am having second thoughts now about staying away from this one...

I laid OU-19.5 early in the week with the idea of buying back some Washington. With that being said, I actually think OU will play really well tomorrow. They desperately want to get the "bad road" tag off their shoulders before they enter the Big 12 wars. I listened to a Washington broadcast guy on a local radio station this morning, and he acted like it would be a rout. Good Luck
