Just in case you have never been in this situation shw01 called it right. Grab baby pictures and other irreplaceable items. I wish someone would have grabbed my guitar the last time our house burned down, it belonged to a long lost friend.

Insurance papers so I could call them and tell them to get the check in the mail. Im over insured and ready to cash in. I don't think that there is anything in my house I couldn't replace. Family photos and other inportant item in my 2000lbs fire proof safe so I don't think I have to worry about that stuff. If I do it won't matter becase Im not going to sit there and try to open it and im sure as hell not going to carry it out. Last thing I would grab is a hose that is for sure.

I have a notebook with all sorts of stuff written in it, including passwords to websites, etc, that would be a distant second and not worth running back into the burning house for after I made sure all my pets (and GF) were out.

string it up and wear it around my neck. almost worth having the other one taken out.

It would probably look like that thing that people wear around their neck after they complete a drug program. I'll see if i can find a pic.

I don't even know where to start. maybe barman can help me out here.

I remember when growing up I would see a necklace that had a leather ball or whatever it was that was given to those who completed drug rehab or something.

Different rehab programs have a variety of such necklaces, bracelets, keychain tags etc to denote successful progression in the program(s).

Yeah, I think this was a local one here in Houston in the 70's or so. I only remembered it because Uno mentioned a nut necklace and the necklace in question resembled one.

I like how you mention "pets" first and then your girlfriend in parentheses afterward.

my dogs (2) and cat (1)

You can only grab one item which means take the cat and leave the 2 dogs or take one dog and on your way out holler for the other dog cause he/she will come when called......unlike a stupid cat.
