Megan Meier killed herself after mean messages were left by a character profile her neighbors created. The Parents of Megan Meier say their neighbors are responsible. It's been just over a year since 13-year-old Megan was found dead in their home. They had reportedly argued over messages she was receiving from a boy named Josh.
After Megan's death, Tina Meier - Megan's mom - found out that Josh never existed. His profile on MySpace was created by a neighborhood family. That family admitted to police that they created the profile to see if Megan would say bad things about their daughter.

One of the messages on her MySpace account from the boy named Josh, said, "I don't know if I want to be friends with you any longer because I hear you're not nice to your friends."
Tina Meier said Megan had a problem with depression and the messages sent her over the edge.
The only action taken so far has been a complaint filed by the parents who concocted the cruel hoax against the parents of Megan Meier. They filed a complaint with local police.
The reason?
Blogger News Network reports that "after finding out who was responsible for the creation of the fictitious MySpace account that led to their daughters suicide, Megan’s parents destroyed a foosball table they had been storing for the heartless adults."
