...just telling it like i live it...i chose this career and believe me it is a lifelong career...i just get a lil edgy when i hear people say rock is dead...rock will never be dead!!!
If you want further evidence that Rock is not dead, one of the greatest Rock'n'Roll bands ever (Mott the Hoople) broke up in 1974 and has been largely forgotten by the music listening public and the corporations that feed them.
Several months ago it was announced that the original lineup was reforming for two gigs in London (@Hammersmith). Tickets went on sale and sold out almost immediately, resulting in 3 more show beng added. Those also sold out. Two warm-up dates (next Friday and Sat) were announced and sold out. Pretty amazing for a band that hasn't played in 35 years, was under appreciated at the time, largely forgotten, and never played the big arenas.
Here's one of the greatest songs ever written. It's a slower song that was written in 1972 and chronicles life in a rock'n'roll band that can't seem to crack the big time and is on the verge of calling it quits.
