I thought Orson Wells was particularly evil in the Third Man.

Eric Gordon in Billy Madison. Sandler movies have been downhill ever since his very first one. Lack of a good villain like this one is a big reason why. Far more important to this movie than Dean Wormer was to Animal House

Nurse Ratched. One of the very best movies ever almost wasn't made because they couldn't find an actor willing to play such an evil role

While RoboCop is perhaps the greatest movie ever, the real villain was the post-apocolypic city of Detroit

Amon Goeth in Schidler's List could make the list. Well acted and no movie character could ever be more vile, even if the real villain was Nazi Germany

If Eric Gordon is not number one, Kevin Spacey in Usual Suspects would be. No other movie has ever been able to blend such a great hero and such a great villain into a single role. Plus it's Kevin Spacey at his best

Robert DeNiro as Max Cady in "Cape Fear." An amazing
transformation since he gained 60 lbs to play Al Capone
a few years earlier in "The Untouchables." (see bottom pic)

A little known fact is that he paid a dentist to crack and
chisel his teeth for the role of Max Cady.

That remake of Cape Fear with DiNiro was a good example of a villian.

Darth Maul of The Phantom Menace.

Haystacks, you are correct to an extent until the part where the Anthony Hopkins' character Hannibal escapes the cage he was locked up in and crucifies one of his guards and kills the other with his teeth.
