You kill me, you are like a mathimatcal machine.....what do you do for a living?
You'd have to average better than 4mph to do an acre in an hour.
Acrehect.gif

In the English-speaking world, before 8th – 21st century, a unit of land area, now
  • = 43,560 square feet
  • = 4,840 square yards
  • = 160 square rods
  • = 1/640 square mile (that is, 0.001 562 5 sq. mile)
  • is about 0.404 687 3 hectare
A square plot of ground, 208.7 feet on a side, will cover an acre. An American football field, 360 feet by 160 feet, is about 1.3 acres; 12 high school basketball courts are a little more than 1 acre.

latex sales for vandeleigh industries

Nothing hard about the math of this. I just looked up a calculator that told me the approximate cutting width of the mower, makes a strip over 4 miles long for an acre.

I know I can't do an acre in an hour with a push mower, more like 2 hours.

I got over 5 acres with a couple dozen fruit trees and it takes me around two hours using a Deere tractor (at 8.5 mph) and a 63 inch mowing deck. Using a 22 inch mowing deck would take me 6 hours, slowing down to 3mph (walking speed) would take me a little over 12 hours. You're lucky if you finish half before needing an emergency room.

You can do it in 5 hours.

Some don't understand like you and I do A23, a liter vodka is not really all THAT much to an alcoholic. With an assistant and no bagging you are golden to finish in under 6 hours.

this is what needs to be done to win the bet.(if it is less than a dime I'd just pay the guy and say fuck it)

1) drink a gallon of water while drinking the booze..... a 5th of vodka if you're conditioned isnt much

2) eat a hardy well rounded breakfast consisting of a lot of protein before starting

3) pick up a 16th of quality meth before hand, loaded into sniffer. Take it easy on the speed untill around noon at least

4) Drink another gallon of water while mowing and above all else PACE yourself:103631605

7 hours at least, likely 8-10

DUDE! You must be the worst negotiator on the planet if you gave up all those concessions. Here's a question for you:

How drunk do you have to be to let a wager fuk you in the butt?

5 acres, 22 inch mowers?

OMG, sorry-but this will end up being an Rx hall of fame thread, and I'm afraid that most of it is going to be at your expense.

Just bail-at least you won't be mowing for a week solid.

I think you could do this in a day, sounds like Fla. with citrus trees and heat ?

Start sober at sunrise and well rested. Call it 4 miles an acre ( it's a bit more).

2mph pushing the mower= 2 hours an acre.

10 tough hours pushing a mower better than 20 miles.

Forget it drunk/hungover, and starting at noon.

I assume you have a substantial wager on this. Like many, I cut lawns when I was younger and I think you are in for a marathon. First, that craftsman you will be pushing is an overweight, useless, worthless, POS as I am sure you will discover in the first acre. Much will be riding on the height and condition of the grass. Recent rains will have loaded you down. If it hasn't been stipulated, strip that POS mower down (remove all safety crap, especially the side exhaust guard and back flap). Sharpen and balance the blades. Get the wheels set as high as you can. Think ahead about your mowing pattern - ie you don't want to be regrinding grass that was already cut. Wear a wide hat and quality ear protection - quality radio muffs are not expensive- and good footwear and good gloves. The ear muffs are because you want to run those mojos at max power. I don't know about the drinking part, but my estimate falls inline with above - 8 hours if you have some legs on you (you might not when its over cause you might have inflamed your achilles tendons). Make sure your team can get fast medical care. This foot exercise reminds us of the power harnessed in gasoline. Good luck.

Bet is as stands....

I have some people working on talking this guy into a buy out. They are plaanting the seed for me that it is gonna be a piece of cake and what not. Right now to be honest, I wish I could just cancel the whole thing. What is that saying about a check and a ass and not being able to cash it.......

Talked my dumbass out of the bet. Went out on his four wheelers instead and just fried in the sun and drank as much as possible and ended up at a local bar making an ass out of myself.

I owe him a trip to the strip club next week for him letting me out.

You're lucky to get out of it.

Very tough to push a lawnmower at 3mph for 7 hours in the hot sun, and hungover.

I doubt you would have done it in 7 hours.

I have two brand new mowers to use, but can only actually use one at a time. They are 22" craftsmen mowers that are self propelled, but I am not allowed to use that feature. I do not need to bag the grass.

......................................................................................................

Did this guy actually buy 22" push mowers to do 5 acres of land ?
