I've known a few and had sex with two ! One was a broad named Julie from Texas, I picked up for a one-nighter in Vegas ( when I lived there). Gave the girl phone #, back then, she went back to Texas, called maybe 6 mo. later... I wasn't in to her... she jumped ( fatal) from some place on Fremont ST.Clark county coroner called me because the broad had my phone number in her purse, at the time. I always felt bad about that one !

First girl , I did Commited suicide like 20 years later, as well ! Freaky Shit !

It gets weirder... every Girl named Julie that I've ever met has had sex with me ( almost), every one from Texas... for sure !

You have to be desperate to off yourself, and I've known too many that have done it, it spooks me !

Rubber-room bound, for sure !

I have had two friends do thereself in, one with two shots to the heart with a .22 rifle, the other took a dive off the highest bridge in Costa Rica. Its a shame, but some people just cant deal with their inner demons.

A female coworker friend of mine committed suicide about 4 years ago.

Horrible. We were never told how she did it, but she owned a gun, so we suspect gun-shot to the head. Party-girl with issues, into Ozzy and went to OzzFest every year. Always dropping F-Bombs and shunning authority, but Great girl. She got fired for being late to work all the time and about a month later, she gave up.

Sad.

Yeah Ozzy made her do it Im sure of it. Anyone remember the scandal with Ozzy and that kids suicide back in the eighties, give me a break "Suicide Solution" was about people who drink theirselves to death. Metal doesnt kill people, stupidity kills people.

Dime

P.S. Unless you count "fade to black" by Metallica, that one sort of sells you on the idea of suicide a bit.

Yes, I know of quite a few cases of suicide......

A distant relative of mine was a COKE HEAD/ALCOHOLIC & "Rigged" up some Boobie Trap....and when he walked in the door, a Shootgun went off and killed him! __________Crazy Guy_______________

A very rich man that I've known for years, had a son & 2 twin daughters.
He gave one daughter a chunk of cash & she opened a hair salon.
He gave the other daughter some cash & she opened a nice campground.
He gave his only son, Nothing & he jumped off of the tallest parking garage in Downtown Columbia! The Rich dad had LOTS of life insurance on The Son & just Got RICHER!______Very Sad______

The most popular guy in school from 8th -12th grade killed himself on a Motorcycle. This guy was so funny, atheletic, and nice looking. Then during spring break our senior year, he, along w/ some others made some Prank Phone Calls to The Hot Spanish Teacher. They got caught..he took all the heat..got expelled w/ 1 month of high school left. The next weekend he was killed on his motorcycle going off a sharp curve at an estimated 140MPH. w/ no helmet! It was Closed Casket! He always wore a helmet..but not this night. also, he never hit the breaks or attempted to make the turn!____School was his Life_______

One of my long time friends(since I was four)died a few years back driving his truck chasing his friend on a fourwheeler. The guy on the quad ran a stopsign and my buddy followed. He was hit from the side and the truck flipped and killed him.
Exactly one year later the driver of the fourwheeler(who felt very responsible for the incident) left the house of a friend after a couple beers and a joint saying "I got to go catch up with a friend of mine", minutes later he drove head on into a tree at full speed. I wonder if he ever caught up with him.

I knew Mitch almost all my life. He grew up around the corner from our family - and I knew him since since i was about 7-8 and he was about 4-5. he and my bro were great friends and i knew him, too. we would hang out with his family and i can recall a ton of great moments with him. there is some debate about what really happened and if he really killed himself - but the official cause of death is suicide - so................. at his Funeral in So Cal it was unreal. Richard Steele was there and i got to talk to him for a few minutes. he is missed:

Boxing loses the Best
by Rick Renald

Nothing is more tragic than death except for the suffering it leaves with the family and friends of the decease. First and foremost my thoughts and prayers go out to Family and close Friends of Referee Mitch Halpern. When Mitch Halpern lost his life a week ago last Sunday, Boxing lost a living Legend. At 33 years of age, Mitch was well on his way to being the greatest. Some will argue he was the best, and many will agree. I am one of them.

Although Mitch is gone his legacy will remain. Many fans are shocked and angered by Mitch taking his life. Although I am shocked, I am not angry. I can't say I am pleased with the amount of boxing writers that made their articles on Mitch Halpern to be tabloid crap. As they write, they break your heart. I won't sit here and judge Mitch's final moments. I won't praise his decision to end his life, but that doesn't mean I won't praise the person. I won't sit here and speculate as to why Mitch is not with us no longer, as it is none of my business, or yours. What is our business is the work Mitch did for us in the ring. Who can argue the professionalism and integrity Mitch brought to each assignment? Who can argue he wasn't at the top of his game?

None of us can.

Mitch Halpern started learning the trade in1991 under the tutelage of Richard Steele. It wasn't long before Richard realized that Mitch would be the best. Richard taught Mitch everything he knew, and Mitch absorbed it all to well. They sparred, and Mitch learned what a fighter goes through. Mitch was eager and his short career proved to be a very impressive resume of 87 championship fights.

I have always enjoyed Richard Steele's work in the ring, so it was no surprise to me how quickly I became fond of Mitch Halpern's work Fans can be critical, but true Boxing fans will cheer extra loud for Richard Steele from now on. You have to cheer because the memories we have of Mitch are great ones.

This Boxing writer/fan who will always cheer extra loud for Richard Steele, will sorely miss Mitch Halpern. Surely, you will too.
