Stoops recruited those kinds of players in 2008 and earlier. But Baylor is getting those players now. Along with Texas A&M. The Texas recruiting wars is much more of a cut throat business than it was 10-15 years ago. Much more spread out between schools. And Oregon came down a stole a couple too.

Oregon didn't "steal" a couple of players from Texas. They paid a lot of players from Texas. Trust me, in 2 years these players will be gone and Oregon will not be who they currently are now. Remember these are Kelly's players. Oregon now and Oregon in 4 years will be quite similar to Miami pre/ post Larry Coker.

I wanted to ask you what you think he's going to say at his news conference tomorrow at 11 a.m? Some in Austin are wanting Norvell to replace the recently departed WR's coach Koening here in Austin. I'm not so sure of that. Are you hearing that Stoops (M) might take the DC position in Baton Rouge?

I've been hearing the rumors you mentioned. I think Mike Stoops wants to leave to take some of the pressure off his brother. Much better to quit in this situation that have the whole program go down with the ship. I actually think Norvell is the little better coach of our two coordinators. Huepel has been in over his head all year with his playcalling. Norvell is an okay coach, but I think he could have done a better job with our wide receivers the past couple of years. I have no idea what Stoops is going to say tomorrow in his press conference. All I know is he's never given an end of season press conference before. So I'm curious to hear what he has to say.

Mark Helfrich did the majority of the recruiting when Kelly was HC, it was Helfrich who discovered Mariota not Kelly.

Oregon and countless others schools were doing the same thing at the time. Will Lyles turned out to be nothing but a liar after Lache Seastrunk couldn't cut it at Oregon.
