Online sports betting legality in Cali?

I want to throw some money down on a longshot.....is it legal for me to bet on bodog even though I live in California where it is illegal to gamble?...I mean, I know I can place the bet...but will they payout? someone please lmk.

It's hard to say whether gambling is legal or illegal because of some obscure laws that were made before the invent of the internet but what I can tell you is that BoDog DOES payout and I've never heard of an online gambler ever charged with anything.

Look at it this way, an American can legally drink at 19 while visiting Canada even though you're American where the drinking age it 21?

The way they look at it(The Books), your placing the bet in the country they are located. The way the U.S. govt. looks at it,well . I doubt someone comes knocking at your door.
