-15 year old Canadian Boy held by USA in Cuba (now 18 years old)

-Captured in Afghanistan

-no lawyer for Omar, has not been charged with any crimes?

why should a young 15 year old boy be held accountable for the SINS of his father. Omar's father had ties to al quieda & Osama. But surely Omar, as a 15 year old boy, was simply doing what his father told him?

did Omar have a choice?

How can any American look themselves in the mirror, knowing their administration is holding children in Cuba & not allowing the DUE PROCESS? Ignoring the RULE OF LAW?

is this even imaginable?

Even when somebody ask you to do something, you can tell if your actions will hurt someone or will be a wrong or bad to do, so my point is that he's where, he chose to be at.:suomi:

this is very imaginable. Its not like he was pulled out of his class in canada. he was in AFGHANISTAN!! Do you think he was there for the weather and beautiful scenary? My guess is that he was there to help his father and is therefore just as responsible.

If the United States gov't believes they have justly imprisoned this individual, then why, praytell, have no charges been laid in three years? Why has he not had access to an attorney? Why has the Canadian gov't not been informed of the reasoning behind his imprisonment even one iota?

If his arrest is on the up-and-up, and not just based on guilt-by-association, then why has nothing whatsoever been done to legitimise this boy's imprisonment?

classic responses from radical left wing liberals. They attack the FBI and the US goverment for not doing enough to stop the attacks of 9-11, but now they want us to take it easy on suspected terrorists.

Just because he was 15 doesnt make him any less dangerous. Have you see the suicide bombers in israel? THey are also teenagers. Just because he was 15, that doesnt make him any less of a threat to the rest of the free world.

-the kid was 15 when captured...

-for all we know he was 11, 12, 13 or 14 when his father brought him to afghanistan.

-are you honestly telling me a boy that young is responsible if his father brings him to another country?

-what choice did he have.

besides, even if he is guilty? what about due process? what about 'the rule of law'?

Here's a biography of the man that the sweet little Omar killed while hanging around with his daddy in Afghanistan.
http://www.groups.sfahq.com/3rd/speer_kia.htm

And another story about Christopher Speer's death:

Plus a fascinating quote from Omar's mother:

Khadr’s outspoken mother and sister cried no tears for the fallen army medic.

Following Khadr’s capture, his sister said the death of Sgt. 1st Class Christopher J. Speer was no "big deal". His mother, who said she would rather see her sons at al-Qaeda training camps than "be on drugs or having some homosexual relation" in Canada, insulted some Canadians."

Well if the kid is guilty, give him a legit trial and find him guilty.

Exactly. Nobody is saying you can't arrest and imprison a Canadian citizen. But as your closest ally, we'd feel alot better about things if you actually pressed charges, instead of holding onto people indefinitely. God knows you wouldn't let us get away with the reverse.

Also, it might need to be said (again) that this kid's older brother was used by the CIA as a spy for several months, then released.
