Greenhead:
What a generous offer. Didn't realize we were in such close proximity. With the advent of on-line wagering and viewing, don't get out to the track much anymore. Too bad. It's not like the old days when the California Derby would draw 20,000+ fans and Bay Meadows was the first track I ever attended as I was born and raised in S.F. before moving down the peninsula in the 70's. Used to go to the track every Saturday and Sunday and took off from work for 3 months to try and cap horses full time in the early 80's. Tough sport to beat over the long haul, particularly with the increased take out. Wouldn't mind meeting up with you in the future. Just bear with me. Would like to meet you when well.
By the way, never owned horses that raced on the track myself, just invested in stallions in the Santa Ynez Valley when the California breeder's incentive program was created. Did have stallions nominated to the Breeder's Cup however. Watching their offspring on the track was plenty thrilling. Actually one of them, Caterman, beat the great John Henry in the Sunset Handicap at Santa Anita before being injured at Del Mar while preparing for the Arlington Million in it's early days. That was the inaugural year of the Breeder's Cup. I've either attended or seen and taped every Cup since it's inception.
I won't forget the offer. Would enjoy meeting you and share a day at the track. Just allow me time please. Thanks again and good luck tonight.
