Looking at this weeks very important divisional game in the NFC South between Atlanta and Carolina. Although it is still early in the season, Atlanta is undefeated and ahead of Carolina with a second game to be played later in the year in Atlanta. Duly respect the past success that Michael Vick has had against the Panthers two years ago, particularly in his elusiveness. However, last week, the Cardinals put up a five man front that caused him and the Falcons significant confusion as they had numerous fumbles and interceptions while barely hanging on to a 6-3 win at home. Meanwhile, the Panthers are coming off a bye week which couldn't help but provide coach Fox with additional time to better prepare to contain Vick. Futhermore, the Panthers still possess excellent quickness in their front defensive front seven. On the offensive side, although RB Davis is out, Foster is very good and with wide receivers Smith and Muhammad, Delhomme has excellent targets. True that under new coach Mora, Jr. the Falcons have a more agressive defensive unit, but feeling here is that the Panthers possess far more ways to score then the Falcons. With the homefield edge, a rested and prepared team, and urgency to the importance of this game, feeling here is that the Panthers hold the edge. Hence,

1* Carolina -3.5

Overall Unit Record YTD: (17-6.6-1)(+10.40) 2*(1-0)(+2.00) 1*(15-6-1)(+8.40)
Overall W/L Record YTD: (16-6-1) 72.73%
NFL Record YTD: (6-1)(+5.90)
NCAFF Record YTD: (10-5-1)(+4.50)

Plays are rated 1*-5*.

Good Luck All.

Good luck in the game Ted, I have backed Atlanta rushing yards over Carolina  On a sadder note, My brother has just had a heart attack, aged 45. He doesnt smoke and drinks only occasionally, never bets and is generally laid back, makes you wonder. Just another time that we have posted the importance of things other than gambling. Hope your health is doing well.

Winbet:

Sorry for the delayed response. Haven't been checking on the forum until now. Very sorry to hear about your brother having a heart attack, particularly being so young and not drinking or smoking. There are many things that can contribute to having a heart attack. Family history, cholesterol, diabetes, etc. Many, many reasons. What is his current prognosis, if you don't mind me asking? If you are not comfortable discussing this on an open forum and would like to e-mail me, this new software allows you to do so. Please feel free or I will be happy to post my address. I think the mods will understand. I am very saddened to hear this news.:( As you said, something like this continues to remind us how important and fragile life can be and puts gambling in the proper perspective.

Sorry to hear that WINBET, I hope he does well. I lost my brother at 49 on 12/26/02 from a massive heart attack. He was my go to guy. It still hurts. Even though we don't know each other, I truly hope he gets well and then give him a hug and tell him what's up. I never really did to mine, you know, a coupla big hard asses, and now it's too late. I apologize if this offends anyone, but there really is something more important than gambling.

Good pk Old Man, but Carolina is not impressing me right now and Atl is too volatile. I'm off, but I'm fading the public and getting on the Jags.

Ted, great job yesterday. I would never be disrespectful to someone who is so admired and respected here, but have a few concerns. I question how effective wr Smith will be with a broken leg. He is their #1 wide, deep threat that stretches the defense. Also #1 rb is also out, with fumbling Foster handling the bulk of carries. Secondly, even with their franchise best ever run last year, they were a woeful 1-6 ATS as home chalk. Their season opener against Packers ran it to 1-7 last 8. I agree with Cards observations, but they have done that against all of their opponents. They are forcing turnovers and taking chances. I am passing here but Falcons are 3-0 for a reason, and their defense is playing much better than last year. Thanks for all of the insights Ted.

Ted listed him in his write up. I was trying to be considerate. I guess you are Ted's unofficial spokesperson. If you were putting real money on this, would you want exact information or not? I knew someone would take it wrong, so much for trying to help. :neenee:

Hey Chico, I think your man is looking for you.

Does Colbert return kicks, or punts? His 3 receptions are not exactly great. Let me think, who is better, a key leader on the team, Smith or Colbert.

Here, this is from Ted's post. Foster is very good and with wide receivers Smith and Muhammad, Delhomme has excellent targets.:biglaugh:

Guys:

Sorry, found myself a bit fatigued today. Glad everyone did well yesterday.

Lockmaster:

Appreciate your comments and no harm done whatsoever. Still like the Panthers in this spot however. Believe this team to be well prepared to stop Atlanta today.

Mario:

This will be my only play of the day. Be very careful with this card as there are more road favorites today in the NFL then I can ever remember.

To everyone who responded to this thread, the very best of success today. I need to take it easy and rest today.

Thanks Ted, was just trying to give you additional info. Sorry Chico, did not know the 40 post rule for helping. Hope Carolina wins by 30.
