The score was 17-10 Jets. Therefore, with my +8.5 points, I was up 15.5 points and the Steelers would have to reach 27 and the Jets not score for me to lose. The way the game was unfolding, there was no need or guarantee that the Steelers would win the game. If the Jets kicker would have made either of the two field goals, the Jets would have won outright 20-17 and any bet on the Steelers as a Pick would have been a loss.
