I'm retired. Drive a 97 auto which I have maintained 100% with ALL of the servicce recommendations. Plus they have all been done at the dealer where I bought the car. Now the "check engine light" which came on has been fixed after 3 days. But that was because it had under 150,000miles and was under 14 yrs. old.
I know we live in a throw away society. But everything becomes "relevant" to each at some point. ( The Wealthy are excluded, of course).
They (Acura) put in a new computer at their cost today ( I have 114,000 miles and can't afford a new vehicle. So I am "quote lucky". ) But this could happen again in under 30,000 miles and the cost of OVER $1000. would be on me regardless of all the maintainence that I keep up).
What should I do?
Cheaper to keep her or what? I'm not out for looks or the "what have you, etc" Dependability Only!
