I hate to put my money opposite of OSU but I see a very close game tonight. OSU has some big problems on O with only 1 proven WR on the depth chart who can catch the ball. Miller will do fine when taking hand offs from the H back as will Samuel ( who was a tb last year ). Suspensions and Injury have really hurt the bucks on O. Miller has not been impressive in my mind catching the ball. I would not be surprised to see Torrance Gibson out at WR tonight even though he is a true freshman who was recruited as a 4/5 star qb, he might be one of the best athletes to put out there. VT will man up on inexperienced WR's and throw 7/8 in the box to stop the run On the other side of the ball with Bosa off the field it changes the blocking necessary for VT and no need to double team which puts a lot more pressure on LB's. Factor in the home field atmosphere, confidence in that they beat osu last year, a more experienced team and QB then last year and osu with out the chip on their shoulder. These will all add up imo to a very close game, hopefully bucks pull out the W.

I played 2 games this weekend with NW and Purdue busting my nuts yesterday. If I play this game it will be VT, I will root for OSU of course but given all the circumstances I see a very close game.. also, hearing there is a little split on the team as to who the players want to be QB. The QB's know who is starting as do a few others but Meyer has not announced to the team as a whole, his only remarks were don't worry about who is playing QB worry about your position and the job you have.

As I posted in an earlier thread about a week ago I was told it was CJ's job to lose someone close to the program told me and his word is good to me. Have not talked with him since then so I will be as curious as you to see who gets the nod..

This man coached football & knows what he is talking about, along with being a successful business man! I enjoy your posts.tu & gl!

Fellas I just ignore stupid people.. they cant help themselves let alone anyone else. That is my take on the game for what it is worth. I take it week by week, new season new teams, nothing guaranteed. Lets see if my analysis is close or if I am way off.. I think I am spot on with it.

Good stuff Buddy! As an OSU fan do you expect the weak WR situation and the CB man press very possible by VT to get OSU going outside the box and challenging VT deep and attacking the pass early??? I am leaning this way but not expecting a lot of success but just enough will do and maybe get VT back in 2 deep coverage to open the run up more...

Cheers to your opinions and thoughts! Right or wrong! It's football and just like a fumble you never know how that wacky ball bounces game to game!

Something else I forgot to mention that had not gotten much attention and factors into my thoughts on tonight's game .. New QB coach and new offensive coordinator ..

Your question is one reason I think CJ is best QB for OSU, 7/8 in the box tonight , play action pass and throwing the ball 70 yards down field to stretch the D and try and keep them honest.

I am not sure the box is stacked at first like we think... Feeling Foster shows a hybrid 46 to draw the thought of 8 in the box! I think both teams (should) attack the pass early and look to push coverage back! Even if it's just over the top throws that go incomplete, thinking is this will force deeper coverage and open up the run. Expecting 3-4 big 35+ yard pass plays by both teams combined...

Like the Hodges kid to get lots of run for VT as their threat if they move him around! OSU should use their TE in some type of read/option to get the Def to flow for something backside. Don't know anything about their TE this year though!

Any off the radar players to watch for OSU from a football standpoint only? Interested in the CB Apple since I don't know much about him! Like his size but can he press and man any? Not sure about CB for OSU but Safety is a nice position for them this year!

they have a lot of young talent all over tbh, not sure there is anyone individually I am looking to show me anything, more concerned with the whole working as one unit

going pretty much how I thought. Just heard Desmond Howard basically say everything I did before the game.. A few more turn overs and penalties and it's an osu loss.. I understand the suspensions and injury but very poor coaching decision to have Elliot catching punts. It's something he had never done, should be a receiver back there, doesn't matter that he is a freshman with no experience, they are use to catching ..
