Cant wait for this too start...I m watching last years right now..Its funny to see all these pros when they were younger and not yet NHL superstars....

PUT your money ON Canada, they should go undefeated...This years team is great..Look forward to hearing if you guys are betting or watching the best Sports event of the year..IMO..

These are my plays for Saturday.

POD Finland -2 -118 vs Germany at Olympic. 2 units

Canada will beat the Slovaks, but by how much? The line is -2.5 -143 at Olympic(opened up at -118) and 5Dimes has -.5 -450 (opened up at -385). Will lay the chalk here although I don't recommend it.

Czech -4.5 goals over Belarus. 1/2 unit. Should be a 8 -1 game.

Good luck....I am going to sit this first set of games out and get a feel for what these teams have....The media pumps Canada up so much that it will be very hard to get a good price anytime betting Canada..

Keep up the good work, you westerners are keeping this team going...Did you see how many players from the WHL are on the team??

The Finland game was a nice night cap for everyone it looks like....Theres some good cappers in this post....except James369.....just kidding buddy...seriously hes probably the sharpest of all of us...Canada looked good, never in doubt, a little sluggish but that can be expected playing SLovakia.......

I hope to be in Grand Forks next weekend to see the games at the Palace on the Prairie! Team Canada is just plain good-real good.

Dont worry, tourneys young..If you get the chance to go to that game, I would pounce at the chance...Big win for the USA against the Russians last night, they played well....I hope they finish 2nd..lol


Nothing overly strong today for today but will play some small wagers on the following:

Sweden OVER 6 -115 ...................OLYMPIC.

Would be a solid play, but I am hesitant about Germany's ability to score against a Swedish team who people have written off from the beginning..Swedens top line can score six goals alone, just a little thin after that....

SWEDEN -2.5 -118 vs.Germany.............

The only thing that holds me back is a two-goal win by the swedes..If line was -2 ........I would pound it........


BELARUS +2.5 -118 vs. Swiss ........................

Belarus should keep this close as this is basically thier only shot at a win...Dont go too heavy on this either.....


BELARUS UNDER 6 -115 ....OLYMPIC

These are two VERY defensive minded teams..This game has the potential to be the worst game in World Junior History...Swiss team loves the trap, so should sit on lead and keep this a low scoring tight yawner....

Good Luck if you are playing.....These plays are not as strong IMO as FINLAND -2 was last night...be conservative, as the tourney is still young....

Like anticipated, Swedens Big line had a Huge game, and Germay's offense was no-where to be found..........PUSH


SWEDEN -2.5 -118 vs.Germany.............


Germany made the step up this year to the big group and got pummeled by a underrated Swede Team...Swedens 1st line are all highly rated NHL prospects, Next game vs. CANADA will be the big test for them....WINNER


BELARUS +2.5 -118 vs. Swiss ........................

Belarus played BAD , despite 32 saves from thier goalie. I never make strong plays on BAD teams...Example...It would be like betting the 49ers vs.Buffalo today....Will stay away from the plugs from BELARUS for most of the tourney...This was their best chance for a win today and they stunk.......LOSS


BELARUS UNDER 6 -115 ....OLYMPIC............

The Swiss went to a trap mid way thru the 2nd , and Belarus couldnt get the puck out of their own end for the late part of the game....Helped us keep UNDER the total with 5 total goaals being scored.......WINNER

good luck boys, my books aren't carrying the World Junior Tournament, but I just love watchin this hockey anyways even with no action, lets hope for our Canadian boys to throw a dirty beating on the Swedes today..

Tomorrow Canada plays Germany and Russia plays Belarus. Both should be blowouts.
